I see Redknapp has done a write up about it's down to Lowe why our academy is so good.

It's undeniable that Lowe played a part. But whenever articles come out they always talk about Walcott, Bale and OXO. They hardly ever mention Shearer, Le Tissier, Wallace trio, Williams, and a host of others, including Channon, Chivers, Paine, Sydenham, etc... from the beginning of my supporting era.

The club has been doing it for decades and decades, not just the last 10-15 years. Lowe put in more infrastructure and gave the Academy a higher profile, but to say it's all down to him is just utter uninformed poppycock.

Isn't the reason they don't mention them because it predated the academy and related to the YTS scheme.

Yeah we did produce a lot of players before Lowe's academy initiative, but we had a very lean spell in between.

It was obvious when Lowe was interviewed about the academy's future prospects he didn't really know what he was talking about.
