Spelling apart, he's probably right. Lallana is too much like the players they already have and Lambert was never going to play (at least until Rogers wakes up to the fact that he is not the lone striker).

Lovren should have worked for them. Perhaps it shows that his season with us was a bit of a fluke (or that not enough credit was given to Fonte, who, just for the record (!) I always thought was the better of the two).

Lovren never quite seemed the same after his injury. He was much better earlier in the season...later on, you could see how good Fonte was (or perhaps he just cared more).

I saw the picture of Lovren as a kid in that bleacher report article and felt a little sorry for him....what can I say, I'm a big old softie...then was reminded what he said when leaving (or attempting to) <grr> 'People were surprised I went to Southampton.' Like he was some giant of football and we were chopped liver!! He went from Lyon to a Premier League club!! Better finish before I run out of exclamation marks or my head explodes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not just to a EPL club but his career had crashed and Lyon were happy to be rid of him. That's why i feel no sympathy for him, had he been flying high and we were another inevitable step to greatness i would've understood his attitude somewhat.

He's a cock but don't try and tell the Liverpool board that. They have the opinion that we thought he was amazing last year and have now decided Fonte is better just because of what happened. Long may Rodgers limitations be invisible to glory hunting players doomed to continue Liverpool's medicority. A club once famous for its beautiful football and glorious nights run as a club for the fans fail.

The day they sacked Roy Evans and employed the uber defensive Houllier was the beginning of the downfall and the end of my interest in them. Used to love watching Liverpool in Europe (for different reasons than now.)

An obnoxious and indoctrinated Liverpool forum? Surely such a thing doesn't exist?

If anyone's bored today, go on any Liverpool forum and read through and threads about tonight's game or lovren. Guaranteed to make you smile!

Also, Aston villa have cancelled their goal of the month competition...

Because they didn't score any!

We did, though. Most of the time, anyway.

He was good, but was prone to a few random lapses during a game. What is different at Liverpool is he hasn't got a leader like Fonte helping him out. With out him he just looks confused and lost.

Just been perusing the Liverpool site on a thread called "defensive shambles" or something and this caught my eye .........

"So what we're saying is, we need an organiser at central defence like, say, Fonte; one or two no-lightweight players in midfield who can play the DM role like, say, Wanyama or Schneiderlin, and a striker who can score goals like, say, Pelle?"

Bloody hell - hands off!! <grr>

But it did make me smile! Why on earth would any of these want to go up there with their current mess? Answers on a postcode please ................

I hate Lovren but that is such a hatchet job it just makes the writer appear bitter. A more balanced article could have made a better case for his failings.

I agree. And the writer clearly didn't watch Newcastle vs Liverpool on Saturday, because Lovren was for the most part pretty solid. It's in midfield that they really have problems.

Looking forward to watching them get crucified in Madrid tonight though. I'm sure we can all enjoy that without a hint of malice.
