There's no big-headedness here - I dont expect us to do it - but I'd really love to see us win the league. In my years of watching City I've never seen us win anything - other than the Yorkshire and Humber Cup - and we've always got promoted on the champion's coattails.
We didnt offer contracts in the summer to McShane or Rosie. And you missed out a player that the management really wanted to keep.
We offered Rosie one, just not McShane. I was sad to see Rosie go, along with Chester, I wasn't too fussed about the others. Particularly Jelavic, who I'd gladly have beaten to death in Charlton's car park. ..
I thought he said he was sad that we never offered him one in the summer after he turned down the initial one in the winter. Didnt he publicly say he wanted to spend the rest of his career with us?
I was talking about the earlier one he was offered, you're right that we didn't offer him another one in the summer.
Well that was what I said in my original post - we didnt offer him and Mcshane contracts in the summer.
I know folk will think me bonkers, but I think we've underperformed and are the one team in that so-called mini-league who will kick-on over that busy Xmas and New Year. The window doesn't worry me as much as SB would by doing his usual of seeing a league lead and trying to defend it, instead of kicking the **** out of them all when they're down and ripping the league a new record.
Blackburn games the one that still pisses me off! Deffo 2pts that got away! You're right we've not set the world on fire! Let's hope the squad strength kicks in eh?
The club obviously were happy enough to get rid of all but Chester and Brady. Bruce was annoyed about Ince but he left because Bruce never played him.
Like Ince, he left for a lesser side because we never played him. Only Chester and Brady were lost to release clauses/bigger clubs and we got big fees for them. I really don't think these release clauses are that much of a worry.
