Considering how I was comparing him to Adel Taarabt last season, technically that means he's improving...
For several periods last season we appeared to be lining up with just six, so I can't see the problem.
That run from mid-April to earl May last season is the perfect example, with Kane playing in spite being clearly not match fit, Dembele playing in spite being a shell of the player he was in previous seasons, Dier and Davies being burned out due to playing approximately 82 games each, and Lloris starting to throw at least one major brainfart per game.
Not to mention the cup games where we made excessive wholesale changes and it looked like about 3 players on the pitch knew what they were doing, and the rest were ****ing dog ****e.
No one else got up to watch the 4am kick-off? Lightweights. So the unsurprising stuff was: - Barca's kids look good but tire quicker than Spurs players. - Nevertheless Son and Eriksen look very good against Barca's kids. The good stuff was: - CCV had a good game. Maybe our best player in the 1st half. - Amos, Skipp and Georgiou looked good. - Moura was again very bright. The bad stuff was: - Aurier just looks like a mess of a player. I just can't see him coming good. - KWP missed a chance to show how he's a better bet as reserve RB (which, for me, he should be). Was played at LB and had a couple of uncomfortable moments. - GKN is 20% "Well maaaybe he has something about him", 70% "meh" and a solid 10% minimum "bloody awful". I have no idea why someone who is so terminally right-footed ever got it into his or anyone's head that he should be a LW. Evrything stops then goes to **** when he gets the ball. Nice lad, though, it seems. Should just run the club's social media. The feel-bad-saying-it-but-it's-true stuff was: - Sissoko went off injured. I'm sorry. I feel bit bad saying it but I fear that his good attitude, hard work and obvious buying-in to Poch's philosophy just creates too much of a danger of Poch picking him for a Spurs starting 11 when he's fit. And I just don't like it when that happens.
Big Vic is back in London getting treatment for the SAME injury that kept him out last season! Lamela has a (hopefully) minor issue in his hip area - sound familiar? Sissoko appears to have pulled a hamstring........ OH FECK IT!! Think Poch and DL will be busy in the next few days.......
Well, we’ve also had a glimpse at how the white shorts look with the new home shirt. 10 men wearing bumbags. I see Gazza was wearing a GK kit that hasn’t yet been released. Clearly no one thought about how the new home GK kit would clash with barca’s Home shirt.
