...let me guess, they don't count either? Also, based on the match pics, Shashoua and Edwards appear to have been hitting the gym
TheSpursWeb aren't exactly complimentary about Edwards' display last night... The best way to describe how Edwards played tonight, was little too flash for his own good. As one of the more senior members of the side tonight, you’d have thought Edwards would have stepped up in a big way. On the positive side, his darting runs and cute flicks earned himself two penalties which he converted with ease. On the negative side, you can obviously see why he rubs Pochettino up the wrong, his attitude is that of a player that thinks he’s too good for the level he is playing at. I don’t think in the whole 90 mins he came back and helped his right back once. Yes, he probably was the star man for Spurs tonight as when he got on the ball he looked a constant threat but without it, he looked lethargic and like he really didn’t want to be there.
Foyth injured and likely to miss all ICC games. Leaving just Dave, CCV and Eyoma as the only natural CBs. Big Vic can likely play there if required.
A “shame” Tanganga was selected for the England U19s EURO squad (who’ve since been knocked out), had a really good 12 months and would’ve been good to see him in first team action.
The match tonight is on Sky Premier Player @ 3am if anyone’s interested. Also on EirSport 2 for those in Ireland. I’ll be recording it
4-1 HT. Llorente 2, Moura 2. Looking good going forward and creating chances, but understandably ropey at the back. The attacking four all look very sharp, particularly Lamela and Moura, whose pace and pressing has troubled Roma constantly.
4-1to spurs moura has 2 and spurs have been very good. Moura playing very well ripping them apart at times
4-1 FT. An energetic and exciting first half was followed by a rather dour and disrupted second. The intense pressing and width rather disappeared, as we seemed happy to just see the result out. Lots of Roma subs early on helped them out, but they still didn't threaten to turn the scoreline around. Surprised to see that they've signed Ante Coric for €6m. Looks like a bargain. Not sure why we didn't go back in at that price.
Amos looked very accomplished in midfield today and the movement of the midfield in the first half was a joy to watch. Moura I didn't realise how good he is in the air so that's another bonus and took his goals well, the side step and composed finish was sublime. Overall a solid performance all round and poch must be pleased for the first friendly to have so many positives to build on .
From the fail: Tottenham were in their new kit which, for some reason, features navy on the bottom of their white shirts. It gives the (probably unwanted) effect of making Mauricio Pochettino's men look like a bunch of old-timers who have pulled their shorts up to their belly buttons.
Moura looked good....ill be ****ing fuming with Poch if this lad doesn't get a decent run in the team instead of being thrown in with 5 to go for the course of the season. Pre season has to be just about fitness as I expect Llorente to return to **** when things get real.
I recorded the game last night and have just stuck it on. @deedub93 is right. it’s also like 11 Simon Cowells. Didn’t realise we’d signed anyone yet, either! Looking forward to seeing “Serge Son” come off the bench
