I think it's a little funny how Mannone is still talked about so much. It's like FC mark II.

I liked him when he was here but it seems like such a long time ago now, it feels like we should be moving on. How do we know if he'll perform the way he did back then? he's not exactly progressed much has he.

It was only a year ago when he last played for us in the Championship.

Since then, he's played nine games in the Premier League and four games In the Champions League.

No progression there then <doh>

You know how quickly keepers can go downhill after turning, er, 25, though. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Thomas Sørensen wants out of Stoke and next season's the final year of his deal, I'd go for him.

Brad Friedel might be worth a cheeky bid too.

How much has Sorensen played in the last few years?

From what I've seen of Shay Given in the Euro's last year and the few appearances he has made this season, I would say his best years are behind him now.

Very difficult position to fill. Stockdale is OK, Mannone would be good but I suspect we will buy one and loan another keeper for a season. Where that leaves Jakupovic is anyones guess.

I'd agree with that. I think Given's well past his best. I'd be happy with Stockdale, delighted with Mannone. Kirkland would be uninspiring but probably decent based on the Owls' views of him.

Harry has said he'll be number 1 next season as he cant keep Julio Cesar in the Championship.

There'll be much bigger clubs in for him. He's been better than the preposterously overrated Hart this season.

And that's nothing to do with him being English? :emoticon-0114-dull:

Shay Given is a good shout and Aston Villa have said that he can go. I do think that SB will try for one marquee player this summer.

Maybe Given can bring Bent with him ? <ok>

Viktor Noring impressed me when I saw him playing for Trelleborgs, but he's on loan at Celtic and they have first option. One out of left field would be Darren Randolph at Motherwell - it'd keep the Irish Connection (Fcek) and he's looked solid this season.

Maybe more likely then you think, he is very highly rated in both Scotland and Ireland and he will defiantly be leaving Motherwell in the summer due to turning down several contract offers! (a FAT as Tickler would say).

His manager said in an interview, that he would defiantly be after him if he was a championship manager, so surely he's good enough for our bench even if not a starting spot!

I like the Jak., but frankly he wasn't good enough last year at Championship level. He certainly won't be anyone's first choice this season, surely. Therefore we can't afford to carry him as our second choice in case an injury to the number 1 makes him first choice. Disaster is the word that springs to mind.

Given has recently parted company with his mrs! So it just depends where his head is at the moment but I'd take him over stocky! I think he's let too many long range & tight angle shots in for my liking

Pantilimon not starting for the Final.

Will that make him want a move even more?

Luke Steele has been outstanding now for a couple of seasons. Would be able to sign him for around £1m.

I think Jakupovic is bizarrely over-rated. People think he's okay but he's **** (IMO).

He had a run of games where people were praising him, but it was mainly his ability to make simple saves look really difficult that made him look impressive. It seemed like he was making brilliant diving saves all the time but they were the kind of saves that Stockdale wouldn't even have to move for.

Well then why would he come here? We've had plenty opportunities to sign him and it's not worked out for various reasons... I think it's time to move on because otherwise it'll be FC all over again.

I don't understand the logic here, explain?

Because playing 38 games in a PL season is the next target for a player after he's moved from playing in the Championship to being a fringe/squad player in the PL.

My opinion mate!i just think he should have saved both the Barnsley shots! He looks too heavy for my liking.
