This ambitious manager will not be allowed to squander tens of millions of pounds in order to create a disparate group of players.
If you want to yo-yo, with dire football when you reach the EPL, Warnock If you want something different, Hasselbaink.
If we are seriously looking to our future then it has to be JFH. Warnock will always be one of our most popular former bosses and he has steadied our rickety ship in the past few weeks for which we should be eternally grateful. Without him we could have been in a relegation battle so it's onwards and upwards with Jimmy...
If Warnock had been a viable alternative candidate, available & wanting the job (which I don't believe was the case due to his family situation), then he would have my vote due to his experience and pedigree in this division, but I will fully support JFH and hope he nurtures a hard working professional work ethic and brings success to our club.
Exactly this. We all love Neil and it was great seeing him take charge again, but it would have been another short term-ist appointment with more upheaval in the near future and has never made it at Prem level (if that's where we aspire to be). JFH's record is not too shabby so far and when was the last time he got a young manager on the way up?
can someone tell me why he would accept a contract like that? Isn't a 3 year job standard?? I know the club are insuring themselves, and rightly so, but from JFHs view it's a bit strange, no?
Bit like goalkeepers, the man in possession of the number 1 shirt has to give it away. JFH currently has the gloves so to speak and it would seem (to me at least) churlish to want anything other than a new empire to be formed and to flourish. I was impressed with his drive and motivation on the interview Norway posted up. JFH all day long... now.
Good point Beth. Warnock would probably only have been to the end of the season anyway. The sooner we start thinking long term the better. Let's hope the Board have made a better choice than how Chris Ramsey turned out. JFH it is.
Sir Neil has been brilliant for us twice now but was never going to be the long term solution. I wish him and his wife all the best and hope it all works out for them. JFH is a good choice for us, an up and coming manager with plenty of enthusiasm, looking forward to what he will bring to the club.
All credits to neil with the job better than well done but its time to move on. Hasselbaink is the most exciting young manager we have had for ages. Ramsey was doomed from the day one and cant help thinkin what the hell was in tonys mind when he appointed him in the first place. Im sure that JFH is totallly different choice and he will lead us back to prem if not this season but the next one.
Why? It's my opinion. I'm just getting fed up with all these idiots who keep wondering why Warnock isn't being given the job, or why he's turning us down. We all know the reason, and polls like this are just dumb.
Les Ferdinand. As soon as LF's mate Tim NBD priced himself out of the job Les had to back the permanent appointment of his other mate - Ramsey. Tony would have been worried that appointing someone not "approved" by his new DOF (a fans' favourite) might cause friction - something he was desperate to avoid after Hughes and Redknapp. Les is concerned with his own future and at the time did not want anybody who might compromise his position.
That's not the way I read this poll. Of course everybody will support the manager, especially if he gets results.
His wife is seriously ill, and he cannot - and will not - take on a permanent manager job whilst she is unwell.
