i have to say, that is odd that you have a 'shortlist' (ironic) of 34 or whatever it is, especially if the search has been ongoing for many weeks! it should be around 5 or 6 maximum. it strikes me they don't have a clue what kind of manager they want - they are simply seeing what crops up.

Ipwsich are where we have been in the past.............................. They are unfasionable. Simple as.

Supers much as I hate to keep correcting you but 34 was the total number of applications that have been received which will now be whittled down into a short list! <doh>

Hate to keep stick up for Supers but Cleggs words were “We’ve pulled together a list of around 34 names between the owner, myself and certainly the owner’s advisors. He has extensive contacts across football'' taken from Simon Cleggs offical statememt

So what? They've got 34 names which they are now whittling down to a short list of 5 or 6! These are people that have applied or are interested in the job! Employment law states that you have to advertise every vacancy.

We need to send someone down the Job Centre to see what's going on!!!

So What? I only posted it because you told Supers to get his facts right when it looks like they were. From my understanding it was not from people who have approached the club after we sacked Jewell because the statement was made at the offical conference to announce Jewell had left - unless they all sent there CV's in within seconds or had sent them in on the off chance that we were getting rid. If it wasnt our own 'short list' then they done bloody well to discuss these options in such a short time.

Slightly off topic, but how often has Supers posted on the Ipswich board today? There needs to be some sort of target/record for most posts etc. as he is a one man *infestation at the moment

*It was a toss up between the words, infestation, invasion and plague. I apologise if it offends you Supers you can change the word for your liking

King, quite a few but in fairness a lot have been on the same topic in the him/ me / PTC debate. It does add an outside perspective which can be quite helpful at times.

PS I think invasion was the best choice of word!

Complete bollocks if you actually read what he says he says a short list of 34!

This is the list of manager odds I found online as of 13:26 on the 29/10/12 for 'Next Permanent Ipswich Town Manager'
Some interesting changes in this list, a few names are fluctuating up and down on a daily basis so either the bookies don't really know whats going on or there is a bit of activity but I imagine we are down to three, the three being the shortest odd on the list - but it's looking more and more likely to be Mick McCarthy in my opinion as he's been consistently one of the shortest odds for the past 5 days

Mick McCarthy - 4/9
George Burley - 4/1
Alan Curbishley - 8/1
Gary Megson - 10/1
Paul Tisdale - 12/1
Alan Shearer - 16/1
Terry Butcher - 16/1
Owen Coyle - 16/1
