I think what Freeman has done a Crystal Palace has been very good, and has started his managing career very promisingly but I'm not too sure as he's only been at one club and one which he was a player at. If we're going for a young manager I'd like to see us go for a manager who's worked the lower leagues and perhaps been at more clubs and been manager for longer than a year!! Plus I'm not sure I would like any manager who rates Delaney!!!!

Freedmans win ratio is identical to Jewells, according to one report I read. Ironically one got the sack, the other was offered a new job!

When I was at their academy (from the age of 14-16) he was my coach/academy manager and so I know him pretty well, I have to say he is an absolute top bloke. True 'good guy' in football, he's a Good leader and knows what he wants and how to get it across in a way that works, something that I'm sure will hold him in good stead for his future. I've been really pleased to see him do well at Col U but realistically he needs to stay there for a year or two before anyone can take a serious look at him.

His big asset is probably seen as youth development and with all the changes to the financial aspect of the game I think it would be better that he stayed there. He could potentially have a job as important as the actual manager in many ways.

In Reply to King_of_Portman_Rd "Also, according to Clegg a list of 34 names has been drawn up..... Bloody hell I couldn't make double figures when I was thinking of suitable candidiates. Does he know something we don't? My name my well be on that list..... "

He's probably got names of potential managers that are nothing to do with football, a list of mates who might fancy doing a job they know nothing about - a Cleggism if you like!

You need a hard as nails scotsman/northerner to come in and sort your prima donna players out and give them a rocket up the arse, sack a few and stir it right up.

There has been no respect for Jewell from the players as he has been too nice. These players should take some of the responsibillity for this mess as it is they who have underperformed week in and week out and watched their manager being slated and castigated week in week out and done nothing to help him.

I felt sorry for Jewell as you could see that it was effecting him mentally and he really wanted to do a good job for the club and the fans. He was badly let down by the players and the players now need to shoulder some of the blame and take their medicine.

The fact that there are 34 on the list of worrying for me. It suggests we dont actually have a clue who or what we want. They have been considering candidates for several weeks so it should have been narrowed down to 10 at most. 34 is one third of the entire football league!
