Any chance Infantile will ask for his peace prize back. Donald the Peacemaker has attacked another country. Perhaps he is a peace maker when he calls off his own attack dogs.
So the individual that demanded a Nobel Peace Prize is busy starting World War 3?Any chance Infantile will ask for his peace prize back. Donald the Peacemaker has attacked another country. Perhaps he is a peace maker when he calls off his own attack dogs.
I don’t think you have. But the interesting thing is most of them think Reform is “too centrist” and “part of the uni party”Seems to me the nationalist right completely dominates the internet. They certainly have X, aided of course by its owner. The rise of the far right extremism seems to be largely an internet phenomenon, or have I got that wrong?
This looks a bit optimistic. I agree it will dent funding of Shi'ite terrorists but i thought other terrorism like Al Qaeda stemmed from Sunni islam. I am surprised that Trump is confident to push for regime change. Looks like the result will be chaos and not democracy.Iran seems fairly isolated on the word stage, so i hope that this won’t escalate any further.
Islamic extremism has been a serious blight to the freedoms of many around the world and if it’s biggest base and funder can be stopped, then we’re all better off
That's Bali high?Booked flights to Bali Friday hours before the tangerine turd dropped his bombs. Just as well they've jumped €100 overnight.
Why do we need a defence in this part of the world other than to support authoritarian regimes that have got súper rich because of oil? What a pity Harold Wilson didn't take us out of this part of the world entirely.Noticing all the opportunistic politician hot takes going on re the Iran situation, but on this one I don't actually see how else Starmer could have played it in the context;
- The US and Israeli initial attack is very likely illegal (not that they care), we were right not to contribute to that offensive. (Priti Patel and Farage think we should have been part of this).
- The US and Israeli plan so far appears to be encouraging regime change from the air. If the plan (as it currently appears) was to kill the Ayatollah, drop a few bombs on the IRGC and see how the dice roll, then even from a hard power perspective this is not a plan worthy of kicking this all off in the first place. You should only attempt these things with a clear vision. Obviously though we are not privy to what goes on behind the scenes, but given the people involved I do not have confidence.
- No one should be mourning the Ayatollah or defending the IRGC.
- We should remain sympathetic to Iranian civilians and the US and Israel should face scrutiny for civilian casualties (they won't).
- Although we (rightfully) stayed out of the initial offensive, we cannot allow our bases or our regional allies to be freely attacked, regardless of the initial cause. We are right to take action to defend them. (Polanski seems to have a problem with this, so how does he propose we stop our own people from being killed?).
Starmer is going to get pelters from all quarters on this, but in this case I actually don't see how he could have handled it differently - The Conservatives and Reform would have had us break international law and responsible for what may well become a regional disaster. The Greens would have us stand back and let our bases, our people and our allies be attacked without defence.
Pushing for régime change is just a smokescreen on many levels for Trump. He does not care oñe iota for Iranian people, whatever their outlook. Firstly, with a war the price of oil will increase substantially, thus filling the coffers of Trump's billionaire friends. Secondly, it is a further excuse to spend more on US military, and who benefits from this? And thirdly, it is a distractor from the Epstein Files where his name has been redacted many times over.No doubt Trump will castigate Eueop

I do think it will impact the provision of drones to Russia. It is just a matter of who fills the vacuum. It did think that North Korea might start getting anxious.
Exactly!It's going to be a bit gauling when the upcoming US and Israeli driven inflation spike inevitably drives populations to Trump's buddys (RN, AFD, Reform etc..) as populations fail to put two and two together that this Iran conflict will send oil and general energy prices through the roof.
You think Trump wants global inflation because it well help Farage get elected in 3 years?It's going to be a bit gauling when the upcoming US and Israeli driven inflation spike inevitably drives populations to Trump's buddys (RN, AFD, Reform etc..) as populations fail to put two and two together that this Iran conflict will send oil and general energy prices through the roof.
I don't think he is thinking of it, I think it will be an unintended consequence.You think Trump wants global inflation because it well help Farage get elected in 3 years?
He cares about his own prospects in the midterms, not anyone elses. US voters care much more about their pockets than the iranian regime, if this does lead to significant global inflation, it will have severe consequences for Trump.
