NEW: Reeves:

"Policies to raise level of real GDP by +0.6% in 10 years."

LOL.

Liz Truss was ousted for 2.7% growth and bond yields lower.

Starting to look like the media coup against Truss was very organised and unfair

That is truly awful if true, what do you suggest that we (you and I) do to help these poor people, where are they located?

Chancellor confirms the health element of universal credit will be cut for new claimants by 50% and then frozen. This will be painful for disabled people

They’ve essentially taken a hammer to disability benefits.

Unlimited money for migrants, Ukraine and net zero though

Better than being disorganized and wrong?

I suspect alternative measures will be brought in.

Lying through her teeth time after time with denigrating insults attacking Jeffrey Goldberg that some on here would admire. See stated Biden didn't bomb the Houthis, absolutely untrue "Under former President Joe Biden, the U.S. and the United Kingdom began a series of airstrikes against the Houthis starting in January 2024. A December report by The International Institute for Strategic Studies said the U.S. and its partners struck the Houthis over 260 times up to that point."

Insane from OBR:

"...productivity fell 0.4% in 2023 & a further 1.0% in 2024. Real GDP per capita at end of 2024 was also 0.7% below the October forecast and 1.1% lower than its level at the end of 2019."

We've basically been in a per capita recession for 5 years.

Who is to blame for that and what can be done about it?

"The problem with the now infamous Signal chat read around the world is not just that sensitive military-operations details were broadcast, but that this reveals a pattern of what appears to be institutional dishonesty inside the Trump administration and the legal ramifications that presents."

FFS Badger, why are you putting this up on here? Is there nothing happening in America?
You should be banned.
Posting this to balance things up. Plus I had been painting in the sun for 4 hours, so not thinking clearly.
A reactor posting a monologue by Rachel Maddow about recent events in the USA and Trump’s relationship with Putin.
She’s very good.

Seems like the Vance visit to Greenland got ****ed off when no one would agree to meet with them for fear of the meeting being turned into a MAGA event.
Fair play Greenland.

So if Labour aren’t for the vulnerable, disabled, poor, elderly, farmers or business…

Who are they for?

Quite why Starmer thinks we can have any say in global politics when he is completely destroying the UK is anyone’s guess

Does the steelworks at Port Talbot, the largest in the UK, not count then?
