It’s not an objective fact.
Ale is editor in chief - that’s for the world. There’s no difference or disconnect in that sense between the UK and US. I’m not telling you where she lives, (though she’s Italian, so do the math - it’s not just in one place) and I have no idea of her political leanings, because as I’ve told you a million times, they don’t reveal or lean on those. I’d be surprised if she were left/liberal tbh. My wife isn’t particularly.
And I’m not name dropping. Christ, you have no bloody idea the people I know if you think that’s me trying to ‘impress’ you or name drop
What I’m trying to do is lend you some knowledge. As always though, you somehow take it as an affront when people try to do that. Others knowing more about something than you isn’t an insult, Os. It’s an opportunity to learn something.
I have no doubt there are a million things you know more about than me. I’d be very happy to admit it, though I have no idea what you do - whatever it is, you’ll likely be an expert in comparison to me. So educate me. I’m not afraid of that at all. Why are you so scared of someone knowing more than you about other stuff?

White people need to stop the outrage signalling! It is ridiculous. I will wait for one of our resident insecure white males to come get upset.
Ok, I knew you would bite. There is a genuine issue with toxic masculinity and incel culture. We just had a rape and triple murder committed by a white man after watching Andrew Tate. One of the men raging about this online is Joey Barton, whose brother murdered a man with an axe - because of his colour. It is outrageous though.
Clearly they’re trying to shift the conversation away from mass immigration and blame “toxic masculinity”.
Imagine the outcry if this was the opposite way round?
I enjoyed reading your post - it’s good to know they take it so seriously. As it happens, I personally do actually respect Reuters as one of the most trustworthy of the legacy media institutions. (Even if that is an incredibly low bar)
However I have still read enough articles and seen countless things firsthand that seem to completely lean left and undermine this.
Some examples here:
https://www.heritage.org/election-i...t-personal-and-gets-election-fraud-completely
I don’t take things as an affront at all, btw. I enjoy learning.
It’s good to hear that they genuinely care about being unbiased and being truthful.
However I still think that is unbiased in their eyes. They will still generally stay within the Overton window. They still say things about the Republicans that they would never say about the Democrats. There is an implication that the left is somehow morally superior to the right.
With Reuters, as with all legacy media, the general language, tone and context generally matches the establishment view. There is still a critical and condescending tone of right wing voters.
I talk about champagne socialists because it runs deep. This idea that anyone that wants to protect the borders, slow immigration down or doesn’t want men in women’s spaces is thick and a bigot. This sort of condescending tone is thick through every media institution - even Reuters. I can pretty much guarantee that all of them are left leaning. Almost every media institution that is surveyed shows left bias in their staff.
It’s the exact same thing that happens on here. I am happy to be conservative. Yet the condescension and insults I receive is pretty staggering really.
I have argued that this attitude has directly lead to Trump & Musk.
More than that… I predict that the right - the genuine far right (not people like me who, despite the insults on here, am actually pretty centrist and liberal) will continue to grow until the media lose their condescending tone and actually listen to the working class when they say they are sick of what’s happening.
X is the only place to go to hear genuine centre-right or right wing views.
You are absolutely correct that this is a problem. And it won’t be addressed by pretending that media institutions aren’t guilty of left bias.
Conservative’s don’t have an actual voice or platform at the moment. The Conservative Party abandoned them and acted like Labour for 14 years.
Government corruption is covered up instead of exposed.
It’s not hard understand the rise of Trump in the US. It’s also not hard to predict that something similar will happen here. The social contract that we all pay our taxes for is breaking down in real time.
It is outrageous though.

I don’t think kids need fear. They need proper behaviour modelled. My son is impeccably behaved and cares about other people. I have never struck him and I don’t shout. He can talk about anything and isn’t judged. But I also set clear rules - bed time, homework, reading. He knows he had certain obligations and I let him see when his behaviour makes life harder for me.One train of thought about toxic masculinity is that kids growing up have no fear of being hurt when they do something wrong, parents can't give their offspring a clip round the ear when they step out of line. Teachers have no way of instilling discipline any more. Psychology works with some but is no deterrent like six of the best!
This includes pensioners. Have you not been paying attention to the aging population debate of the last 20-30 years? You must log in or register to see images
This is very bad. Over 52% of the UK population is reliant on the state for their livelihood
UK is in huge trouble. The millionaires are all leaving and the state is growing.
This study doesn’t even account for private sector jobs that are heavily subsidised by the state. I can think of many contractors that are also ripping off the taxpayer.

Totally agree with the role model bit.Six of the best never worked as a deterrent for me. In fact sometimes we’d deliberately goad the teachers into using the cane or slipper - getting hit was a badge of honour. My son, on the other hand, was never hit by teachers, by his mother, nor by me - and he had grown into a decent honourable man. What young men need growing up, is role models they can look up to and respect.
