Impressive connections. How many of those people are left wing/liberal? How many of them live in the London socialist bubble? Is there a disconnect between the UK and America? There are many examples of American Reuters showing huge bias against Trump. No amount of name dropping can change this objective fact.
Bias, by its nature, is hard to present as objective fact. Firstly, because bias is opinion and therefore not factual, and secondly because our understanding of opinion is subjective and not objective.
It’s not an objective fact. Ale is editor in chief - that’s for the world. There’s no difference or disconnect in that sense between the UK and US. I’m not telling you where she lives, (though she’s Italian, so do the math - it’s not just in one place) and I have no idea of her political leanings, because as I’ve told you a million times, they don’t reveal or lean on those. I’d be surprised if she were left/liberal tbh. My wife isn’t particularly. And I’m not name dropping. Christ, you have no bloody idea the people I know if you think that’s me trying to ‘impress’ you or name drop What I’m trying to do is lend you some knowledge. As always though, you somehow take it as an affront when people try to do that. Others knowing more about something than you isn’t an insult, Os. It’s an opportunity to learn something. I have no doubt there are a million things you know more about than me. I’d be very happy to admit it, though I have no idea what you do - whatever it is, you’ll likely be an expert in comparison to me. So educate me. I’m not afraid of that at all. Why are you so scared of someone knowing more than you about other stuff?
It is on capitalisation That may take a hit due to the issue between Teslas customer base and Musks behaviour
The thing with Trump is I do try to see if it is just bias against him with any reporting I read/hear. Sometimes though you may have to accept that most of it is true and he is not a nice person. That isn't the 'legacy' media telling me, it is me evaluating the evidence presented to me (from all sources) and coming to that conclusion for my opinion. This is the important part. MY OPINION. I'm never going to change Os mind, but I would hope that I and others on here could make him open up his view a bit and not believe what bob from the pub wrote on twitter.
Exactly this. Of course there’ll be people at Reuters that think he’s a complete ****, just as there’ll be people at the White House working for him that think he’s a complete ****. That’s probably because he’s a complete ****. But that doesn’t stop them reporting what’s happening accurately and without bias, or doing their jobs for him in the White House effectively. Because they’re professionals.
They don’t sit there thinking “we’re going to run a negative story about Trump because we, as a unit, don’t like him”. To even think that’s how they work is a ridiculous display of naivety.
Thought for the day - In the UK if you don't like Starmer and say so, you live to say it again. In United States if you don't like Trump and says so you will be very unpopular with his followers, in Russia if you don't like Putin and say so, you end up dead in mysterious circumstances.
Omg people are upset that the absolutely fantastic Adolescence has a white kid do a murder! White people need to stop the outrage signalling! It is ridiculous. I will wait for one of our resident insecure white males to come get upset.
I don’t quite understand this department of education closure by Trump. I’ll wait for some solid, researched reporting on it, but right now I don’t know enough to comment.
I think the talking heads are still discussing it but I have seen that it can only be done by an act of congress and not by an executive order.
