It’s just how things are. We don’t (and shouldn’t) get involved in absolutely every conflict. One persons “right” is another persons “wrong”.
Put it this way;
Imagine if Russia was sending weapons and money to the IRA and destabilising Ireland for years, interfering in elections and generally causing political chaos there.
Imagine if things got so bad there, we felt there was a threat to Britain and that we then had to send British troops back in to stabilise the region. But also imagine instead of an island, Ireland had the rest of Russia and its global military alliances behind it, which made the situation even more tense and complex.
That is me ‘straw manning’ Putin’s position. He sees the west have been destabilising Ukraine in order to push their own agenda in the region.
I’m not saying this justifies his invasion. I’m saying.. it means we need to understand the history accurately. We need to understand his view and not provoke him to do anything even worse.
It seems, to me at least, that the western media is trying to propaganda away all the previous history here and to drum up support for us as the “good guys” and ignore everything else.
If we are going to endanger British lives, it should be done with all of the facts on the table.
We shouldn’t go to war under a cloud of lies like we did in Iraq.
Sevastopol is the main port in the Crimea, which Putin has had in his possession since 2014.
Try again.

You mean all of those currently sovereign nations who have not been invaded?
I am not saying you’re wrong. Maybe that is his intention. Maybe he is crazy enough that he will continue to expand.
Maybe the western strategy of turning Ukraine into a meat grinder will stop that from happening and we’ve played a blinder. (Not for the Ukranian’s though, and it’s their young men that have all of my sympathy. Fighting and dying for such a pointless war)
It’s a grim strategy but it’s plausible that’s what the intention has been.
I still don’t see any reason to put British troops on the ground, or give Ukraine weapons that can target Russia. Both of those things are way, way too far. To advocate for these things is letting emotions cloud rational judgement
Yeah, why would a man showing the world he is at war wear the gear of war. How did Churchill dress when he visited the White House? Oh…
And why goad him about it?
While the old orange fruit was wearing his customary high-heels and make up.

For anyone interested, Elon musk has just done a 3 hour chat with Joe rogan discussing USAID, misallocation of taxpayer money, NGOs etc
Very interesting to hear straight from him
The express printing a load of irrelevant bollocks as usual, comparison with NATO is more appropriate. The decimation of Russian military over the last three years, their piss poor commanders and logistical nightmare shows they would be no match for NATO forces te extremely unlikely event of a war.I hope they’re ok. Sad to see what their terrible immigration policies have done.
Back to the topic at hand;
Keir Starmer seems to think it’s wise to continue provoking Putin instead of genuinely striving for peace. These are the odds he is facing:

This doesn’t even take into account the fact that they still have a large manufacturing base which could be immediately used to aid the wartime effort - which we simply do not have.
Europe outsourced its manufacturing long ago to countries that would likely be neutral or allied with Russia.
This is why I find his posturing so embarrassing.

Oh dear, oh dear. How old are these numbers, please, Os?
Sorry to disappoint you, mate, but Russia has lost over 10,000 tanks in Ukraine alone. That's two thirds of the number that your cute graphic states. Hahaha. They have had their arses seriously handed to them in this war, and if Ukraine was equal in personnel and equipment, the war wouldn't have lasted more than a year.
And that's Ukraine. Ukraine's equipment, until they started getting help, was extremely basic.
You really think Russia has a million soldiers to put up in another fight? Then why are they using conscripts, prisoners, and f*cking North Koreans? Loool.
Russia has lost 30 ships and a submarine, to a country that doesn't even have a Navy!
The only thing they have that scares other Western nations is the nukes. Apart from that they are so incredibly incompetent, that I think even just a small alliance of Euro nations (UK, France, Poland), would defeat them in a very short period of time.
Why do you love them so much anyway? F*cking weird, mate.
Such an odd post. Trying to estimate the outcome of Starmer’s foolish war games does not equate to loving Russia.
Ok now where does the fuel come from to power these vehicles?
Europe has decimated their energy infrastructure to the point that it still has to purchase Russian energy even now.
With America refusing to backstop NATO, would they help? Possibly not.
Not to mention all of the above forces are relatively pointless when you consider that Russia has thousands of nuclear weapons.
Basically Starmer wants to risk the annihilation of the UK on a vanity project, instead of being a grown up. He is a very dangerous prime minister, perhaps the most dangerous in our lifetime
We also have Turkey on our side, who have a very large military.Oh dear, oh dear. How old are these numbers, please, Os?

Not sure I’d trust Erdogan as far as I could kick him.
