The Conservatives didn’t just coddle them, they openly encouraged them with their relentless anti immigrant rhetoric from, at least, 2013, when Theresa May unleashed the “hostile environment” vans.
For at least 11 years the Tory party has driven this anti immigrant agenda and done nothing to stop the likes of Tate, Robinson and Farage from stepping up the pressure.
The sad thing is that if Labour cannot improve the economy and the feeling of wellbeing in the country those voters who lent them their vote will in all likelihood return to the Conservative Party and return them to a position where the hatred becomes even stronger.
The media has to get a grip too and stop giving airtime to the hate mongers, especially BBCQT that has only, iirc, had 3 guests who have appeared more times than Farage.
No more Stop The Boats headlines, hopefully.
I see the Mail is now feigning outrage, but I wonder how their readers feel about the hooligans the paper has been gaslighting for years.
