I would have thought not, judging from Greg's response. What do you think the video "means"? The poster of the material seems to be suggesting the Jan 6th Trump Riots and assault on the Capitol were somehow faked, judging from the tone of his feed.

The footage just shows a bloke partially clad in animals skins - like a new age Davy Crockett - incongruously wandering around the US Capitol building. He's perhaps following and sometimes in front of the security guards. Is he being watched? Is he leaving the building? How have security been told to handle the situation?

What is such an individual's or security's expected behaviour in this situation, whatever the situation depicted is?

That guy is the poster boy for the entire insurrection. He was the one in the Indian head dress on the news, that they painted as some kind of terrorist.

In actual fact, now all the videos have been released, the protestors didn’t break in, they were literally let in by the police as they moved the barricades.

This is a very different scenario to the “terrifying insurrection” that they ran with at the time.

Did you listen to reporters at the actual moment? because I did on radio 4 and it was clear that they were violently breaking through barricades.
Another thing is what was the crowd's motivation for being there, what were they hoping to achieve if not to stop the peaceful transfer of power?

I watched as they cut to Trump’s rally, where he urged them to attack Congress, and then as the crowd moved up to the Capitol. I watched the whole thing, with the Proud Boys and all the other fascists urging the crowd to break the windows and doors down. Jason Charnsley was visible throughout the break in.

I humbly suggest that the footage shown by the preposterous Tucker Carlson was from a previous day, when he would have been perfectly entitled to a guided tour around the Capitol.

I’d ask the question that others here have posed - how do we know this was actually filmed on the 6th. It was in my initial reply but I decided not to go to that straight away and focus on how even if it was it is a ludicrous leap you have made. That is right - even if the video (with no audio) is completely legit and from that day it still does not prove your claim. It is proper grasping at straws

I’d also ask why the guy was not seemingly able to use said video to get out of prison? I’m not sure it was even mentioned in reports about his trial. And he dropped his own appeal. An odd thing to do if you have video proof that you were let in and shown around

But the greater point is that you appear to have gobbled this up eagerly with no challenge whatsoever. And not only that but used it to come to just about the most extreme conclusion possible.

Fox News is the most watched cable news show in the USA. I expect tucker Carlson is the most watched show on that channel (if not he will be up there). How much more “mainstream” do you want ?

But it seems to me that a lot of people are very upset that these videos have been released. The White House & co. were much happier when the only video that was released was the ones that fit their narrative.

It’s quite clear that the protestors were wrong to be there, but equally the propaganda and circus around it was blown out of all proportion and politicised way too much. Calling it a terrorist attack, an attack on democracy etc etc. seems completely outrageous when you see how calmly they were ushering people inside.

People are upset that a major news broadcast is blatantly lying about the events of January 6, because it is likely to lead to even more violence in the future. The notion that if people are upset, it inherently means that you're right, is just complete silliness. Sometimes people are upset because you're downplaying an attempted fascist coup because attempted fascist coups are really bad!
