I have just read on the BBC website that Quade Cooper, who has lived in Australia since he was 13, who has played for the Wallabies 70 times, has been denied Australian citizenship yet again for some obscure reason related to failing to provide proof that he had done something to enhance Australia. Nice to know that Oz has such a caring and welcoming Government. No doubt Johnson et al, as part of the trade deal, will be importing some of their shared ideas very soon. Oñe suspects that if Australian measures are implemented then future Mo Farahs, Ben Stokes's, Raheem Sterlings and Joanna Kontas will be denied UK citizenship.

And quite right too. It's why the people voted Brexit.

I do seriously wonder what my Brexit voting relatives hoped for, and what they think when they see reports from NHS hospitals where 90% of the interviewees seem to be 'foreign'. Your sporting story is another example of the Brexit ****-up, but there are so many.

It's an odd time all round, and not just because of the effects of Covid-19. Had England won the Euros we may not have seen the bile from the racists, but then we may not have seen the emotional out-pour of support for Rashford et al which has been so uplifting. I just have to believe that voices of reason will eventually prevail. Naive?

"They will be participating in the daily contact testing pilot to allow them to continue to work from Downing Street.

"They will be conducting only essential government business during this period."

Obviously, as Boris considers that " it is 'far more important that everybody sticks to the same rules' ", he will retrospectively reprimand Michael Gove for deliberately flouting said rules.

Ooh, look, everyone, an entire squadron of airborne porcine creatures...
