:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angryBBC news at 6pm, another 10 minutes of anti Corbyn/anti Semitic diatribe, despite having mentioned that there had been another complaint against the Tories for Islamophobia.
The complaint against the Tories is dealt with by some meaningless waffle from Johnson that is accepted without question, whilst the complaint against Corbyn is cemented by wheedling out those Jews that agree with the rabbi.
No talking to the pro labour Jewish groups for balance.
No mention of the rabbi being a friend of Johnson.
No mention of Johnson being the editor of the Spectator when an anti Semitic, holocaust denying reporter (Taki) was writing anti Semitic bile.
And no talking to any leading Moslems to get a balance as to how THEY feel living in the climate of fear created by the Tories.
Laura Poisonberg over egging the case against and also totally ignoring the Islamophobia complaint.
Sorry guys but I am really beginning to lose my **** at the total unfairness of the country we call home.

I’m right up there with you, St B. I’ve very nearly given up on this place and the idiot voters that are too ****ing blinkered to see what’s going on and how they are being manipulated. If, as I fear, Spaffer gets a majority or can get one with that prat Nigel backing him up, I most definitely will move ......

Some better news in the polls. ICM have the Tory lead down to 7%. This represents a tiny 2.2% swing since 2017 and would give them at most 20 Labour seats. Kantar who last week gave the Tories a massive 18% lead have seen it trimmed back to 11%. Judging by the way Mrs F's phone has been buzzing since Sunday WASPI women are going to swing towards Labour. It's like the Tory Right to Buy scam. Impossible for Tories to argue against without raising it's profile....

My daughter and son-in-law are in Rees-Mogg's constituency, I've had a few chats now and they are likely to tactically vote LibDem even though they are Labour leaning.
Most of my family are Labour supporters these days, except my parents who were Tory for years and now vote for whoever keeps the Tories out.
None of them trust Boris, and those that are a bit suspicious of Corbyn will admit that they'd sooner take a gamble with someone they're not sure about than vote for a guaranteed liar.

And the Tory lead isn’t uniform across the country. They will lose seats as well as gain some, to Labour, the Lib Dem’s, and the SNP. In Labour-Tory marginals they may well lose more votes to Farage than Labour. It’s all to play for!

Keith Simpson the retiring Tory MP for Mid Norfolk was on TV on Sunday. I particularly liked his take on Pfeffel. "The one thing you can rely on with Boris is that he will always let you down."

Corbyn could help his cause with this by issuing a statement specifically condemning Antisemitism and saying that it has no place in the Labour Party. But when asked he replies with all racism is bad, No ****, why dilute the message. Being balanced on this and on where he sits on Brexit will hurt him, we don't live in nuanced balanced times.

He's done that, repeatedly. He's been absolutely unequivocal, not once but many times. That never seems to get reported, for some reason.

Miriam Margolyes made a good point on Ch4 news tonight; that the one word missing from the Cheif Rabbi's statement, was 'Israel'.

I was reading that it won’t just be the 3.8 million waspi women, but also supporting members of their families and friends, which could raise the figure of voters swinging to Labour up to around 10 million.
That plus the number of young people registering to vote could be the answer to my prayers.

A clear win for Johnson would stop me from moving back to Spain, in the future, as freedom of movement will be gone.
Not happy with that!

Of course it won't be all of them swinging, but I think it may be particularly effective with Brexit supporting women in Seats targeted by the Tories. Many of these women will be quite hard up and the prospect of twenty grand plus will be very attractive. It's irrelevant where the money comes from, if you are offered that sort of moolah it's churlish to ask!

Not too sure the comment about "absurd religion nonsense" really helps build bridges - live and let live live.

I do agree with your sentiment, as I too would like to know what the actual charge is, as I keep hearing "Labour is anti-semetic" without knowing what the heck it is they've actually done.

With the Tories, I can point to vans telling migrants to go home ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24755547 ), the Windrush scandal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windrush_scandal ) or Boris Johnson's letterbox muslims ( https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...-wrong-yes-burka-oppressive-ridiculous-still/ ). I can examine the facts for myself, decide whether the media coverage is fair and come to my own conclusions.

It's perfectly possible that similar scandals have plagued the Labour party in relation to charges of anti-Semitism, but without knowledge of the charge against them, it's hard for me to judge the situation for myself.

Haha, was on the windup with the last bit! Good points, though

Jezza gave quite a decent stonewalling performance on Andrew Neill tonight. Neill is a bastard of an interviewer. Quite looking forward to Pfeffel getting the treatment.

He was given a golden opportunity to end the perceived antisemitism in labour issue once and for all and apologise, but no he went back to the stock "Racism is bad" line. I'm not Jewish so I have no dog in this fight but it's obvious that the trust in labour from the Jewish community is eroding. Even if this is being whipped up for political gains (it is) it shows poor leadership skills in recognising the toxicity in letting this fester.

Boris will attempt to chum his way through a Interview with Andrew Neil, he'd get destroyed, and that's why I think he'll duck it.

The current political landscape is really poor, Conservative's are a parody of their "Nasty Party" label, Labour have been so slow to react to anything and the Lib Dems are still on the defensive over their role in the coalition.

Looking at the current leaders, makes you miss the likes of Major Brown and Ashdown.
