I would imagine the sheer weight of numbers on Saturday will mean the police, as they did in 2003, and at the massive People’s Vote march last March, will keep a very low profile.

I can't tell you how weird of a sentence this is from the North American perspective, where "sheer weight of numbers" in a protest generally means "preemptive deployment of fully-kitted riot police with tear gas at the ready".

This factory carries just 4 (FOUR) hours worth of parts, owing to the “just in time” delivery system so many industries now use.
So, delays/interruption to supplies of greater than 4 hours could stop this factory from working.
Many supermarket chains work on the same principle, with daily carry over stocks kept to a minimum, based on the expected arrival time of daily deliveries.

Ireland reunited. Scotland leaving. Could Wessex 're-emerge'? Saints in Europe every season..

We need to start a campaign for an independent Wessex. **** that corrupt load of bastards in Whitehall we want a parliament of our own.

A hard border is needed up the middle of Hampshire through Berkshire to the Thames and across to Bristol.

Full and unilateral independence for Wessex.

As people know I work for Honda which also uses "just in time" delivery system (although ours is longer than 4 hours) it works fine until there are delays ...weather, supplier problems etc.
So when this happens we use a system called WTA (working time account which basically means banked hours.....sometimes sent home sometimes not.) and when the parts have arrived we have to do overtime using the banked hours to recover the deficit.

Feel a tee shirt coming on... Wessex for Europe. Could catch on.

Can't make the London march, had a minor op on my shoulder last week leaving it sore to say the least. Doc not impressed with the idea of me lugging bags on and of the train and around London then down to Southampton. Heading up to Amsterdam instead

Please. No one will be surprised if China invades Taiwan, because in all likelihood it will be the US who has provoked them. And we will not lift a finger to help them. Taiwan to the US is nothing but a pawn to use against China.

In the global market, there is nothing such thing as bullying. China does not have to buy anything from the US if they don't want to, and vice versa. Both countries and the world are worse off for this, but if they want to be stupid they can be stupid.

Also, a lot of people do not like Japan because of WW2. And all of the Asian countries are economic rivals.

All you have to do if you don't like China's economic power is not buy their stuff. Buy stuff from some other country with cheap labor and horrible environmental and safety records instead. And then in ten years we can all bitch about how "unfair" it all is when that country undercuts our domestic companies.

Many of the same people complaining that China boycotting the NBA is bad are the same people who boycott the NFL because an NFL player wouldn't stand for the National anthem.

Yeah and not only are they not doing anything, our two countries are pulling out of trade agreements that would make all of the world stronger as a whole.

UK is trying to bully the EU. US is trying to bully the entire world. We are only pissed at China because they have the economic clout to stand up to us.

People in Hong Kong are burning LeBron jerseys now, because he spoke out against Morey. Should we tell the Hong Kong protesters to stuff it because they are "bullying" the NBA?

It's a load of crap. It's recycled "yellow menace" stuff being used for political gain.

There is no way I would ever defend the Chinese government for the way they run the country. But I also will oppose my own government and yours when they engage in the same trade protectionism, propaganda, attempted isolationism and all that other BS. From my perspective I really don't care who is taking away my rights and/or screwing me over. I'm not going to empower Trump to defeat China so that he can be my dictator instead.

F*ck me, your arguments are all over the place. I don't know where to start. You say there is no such thing as 'bullying', and then claim both US and UK are bullying. Okay. You've gone from saying all Asian people dislike each other, to them being 'economic rivals' (are we talking the public, or the governments? You've lost me on this). Not everyone hates the Japanese at all. That is a lazy generalisation. You think the 'only' reason China is pissing people off, is because of their economic clout? Again, that's way too simplistic. And your 'yellow menace' comment is just utter nonsense, and the implication is frankly offensive.

Anyway, looks like neither of us is going to back down regarding this, and it's becoming tiresome. So let's just say you win. You're an expert on Asia obviously.

Anyone got any info on the new agreement that Boris is making with the EU and possibly the dup. Or is it all hype?

Rumour is that it involves a border in the North Sea, something Boris was vehemently against when it was mooted before.
The DUP are said to be against it, but how against it may depend on ££££££. I saw a comment this morning, unsubstantiated, that suggested that they have been offered billions as a sweetener to fall into line.

Edit. It has been noted that I have made a geographical error, but I will leave it there so everyone will know I am a numpty.
