It's amazing to me (actually it's not really) that a president with the diplomatic skills and experience of a golden retriever has the arrogance to criticise a professional diplomat whose job it is to assess situations and report. As you say Chilco, the thought police are gathering, but they're not even hiding

The deeper irony is that calling Trump deeply insecure led him to lash out in his insecurity, demonstrating just how accurate his assessment was.

But isn`t part of the job of being a diplomat is being, err, diplomatic ? He`s another in a long line of Tory Hooray Henry`s that are dragging the UK deeper into the mire. The UK is a laughing stock thanks to that shower of tossers - and they can`t come up with credible, dignified candidate for leader. Beam me up !

No. He’s been sacked for doing his job, which as a civil servant (note he works for the people, not the PM or politicians) is to report what he finds within the country he’s posted.

He’s done precisely that, and been stitched up.

His job is to tell his boss his true feelings about how the government in that country are running things. Him saying that The white House is chaotic is not something new. Obviously some idiot released he emails to either try to embarrass May or Trump, or try to cause friction between he two countries.
A sad way to finish a long career, he leaker will need to found fast

Or, possibly, to get rid of someone who perhaps would have been at odds with an incoming leader. The leak almost certainly came from the Foreign Office; spying on diplomatic cables is a huge no-no, and direct reports from the ambassador only reach so many hands.

Isn't it a bit strange a president insulting an ambassador in public calling him all sorts of names and telling the world how incompetent the ambassador is.?? yet doing much the same thing in public what the ambassador did in private. IMO just shows what a twat Trump is. Trump is making the Americans no better than the Russians. If the people don't sort him out fairly soon I think a lot of the rest of the world will do. They will isolate the Americans they will be on their own.........that is if they are not already.

No one is going to isolate the world’s largest economy. But of course Trump is doing the US’s international reputation no good at all.

.....and don't they know it.........I meant politically of course..........They will be looking for friends if indeed they go to war with Iran.....which is looking more and more likely if Iran enriches uranium any more.........The Americans just might end up with another Vietnam.........

Edit if the US doesn't I think the Israeli's just might.........will upset the balance in the Middle East.

Embrace your fear. Life is to short to worry about inconsequential stuff like Brexit.
Try not to respond, as I'm otherwise engaged. :)
Making the best of a bad lot is what the ordinary people have done since they started doing things. It's supposed to be different these days. The first thing you don't do is hand all the power to those who have far too much in the first place.

If you were a remainer who just wants to 'get this thing over', then stop right there. Because this is the biggest political mistake this country will have made since it choped off Cromwell's head and restored the monarchy. And that eons ago. And there's no desire for leaving now anyway.

And trusting Richard II at Smithfield after his lackeys had murdered Wat Tyler in 1381...

Certainly no majority far from it. If Art. 50 isn't revoked then a new referendum is the only democratic way to go with May and whichever of the klootzak zalupas is chosen by the tory members making it two PMs in a row not chosen by the electorate. All claiming to be "following the will of the people" cunning stunts they are and will remain to be.

Sorry mate May was actually chosen by the people as she had a general election just after the referendum.........Boris or hunt will be chosen by the peoples representatives............The general public will get the chance at the next election.........always assuming the new pm survives that long.

Cromwell died in his bed, it was his son Tumbledown Dick whose reign as Lord Protector was so catastrophic that the king was invited back.

No overall majority though and she had to do a dodgy deal with religious nuts and bigots in NI and bribe the DUP to gain power.
