All the kids in Lincoln? What is he some sort of pied piper. Yours and Neddy's experience with youth and others at complete odds with mine here in The Hague and in the UK.

So I take it you think our families are somehow different to everyone else? You think they are the only youngsters to think that way? I have met quite a few friends of the grandchildren. Of course there is a mixed response from these youngsters. I have to say if these are representative of that age group if we had another referendum it still would be a close affair.

From my point of view they have had 3 years to understand. Trouble was all parties were convinced we would vote to stay. So the majority of MPS are trying to insist we stay, ignoring the referendum. So I ask what is the point of a referendum or voting in MPs just to do what they want. Not what the public wanted. Oh you are probably right in thinking the public don't want that anymore because they have made such a bloody mess of the whole thing by all parties. People are just fed up with how the MPs are ruining our country..........

David Cameron decided to ask the audience. The audience, having been sold a pup by snake oil salesmen like Farage and Johnson, got it wrong. Cameron knew that and effed off sharpish. The snake oil salesmen continue to peddle venom.

Hard to see a way out now, and I don’t hold the majority of MPs in contempt for failing to come up with a solution to an insoluble problem. History will not be kind to Cameron, Farage, Boris Johnson or the U.K. press. It will be kinder, I think, to both Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn, neither of whom created this mess.

The "BS Guido" reports on "bydonkeys" about their spending (as a non party campaign) has forced them to register with the EC!! If they are unregistered their limit in England is £20k which they quite obviously have spent way more than. And even now they are registered the limit is £159k which (according to Guido) they have overspent on as well.

I would suggest that them feeling they had to register suggests in itself there is something to this story. Their supporters (including Cadwalladr) completely unaware of actual rules and laws were using the defence "they are not a political party" right up to today.

I daresay they could be done by the BP over copyright, trademarks and trade descriptions, attempt to mislead seeing as their latest billboards don't just emulate BP style adverts. They actually use the logo AND present the whole thing as if it came from the BP.............which quite obviously is not allowed!!

But of course they are on the right correct side of the argument and thus they will get away with it.
Regulated period for the EU elections began on Jan 23rd 2019. Apparently all in order.
All quotes from brexit candidates or supporters can be verified.
I don't think anyone wouldn't understand this is a Led By Donkeys poster, whats misleading about the quote? Poster origin perfectly clear certainly not presented as being from BP. Bring on the law suit oh.

Here is another example of poor information being put to the public. Bio-degradable Plastic is BAD, worse than normal plastic. It breaks down into micro particles and then doesn’t go anywhere.

It is incredible how everyday I hear people talking about Bio-degradable plastic when they don’t know that it’s bad. Not there fault though, it’s the lack of info.
It doesn't even degrade quicker, which was the whole ****ing point, and they can't be recycled.

So any suggestions of a way out of this? Other of course going as you or I want it??

God knows. The country has never been more divided, and it's hard to envisage any political outcome or process that's going to bring us back together again.

But as you say, we're all going to have to start by accepting that none of us is going to get exactly what we want.

Reduce the voting age to 16, have a second vote, but only for those up to the age of 60/65/ working age.
Give the vote over to those whose futures will genuinely be affected by Brexit, rather than let the retirees, whose life won’t change after Brexit, decide, based on some sort of nostalgic desire to live in the past. (Like my sister for one)

Steps back and dons kevlar body armour. :bandit:

The BBC (British Brexit corporation) is so biased it's untrue. I’ve stopped watching any news programme on there now as it’s incredible how they toady to the government ......
Biased in which direction, Dave? I hear right-wingers say it is leftist. Left-wingers say it is rightist, and Centralists wonder why the BBC give them a hard time. The original mission of the BBC is to have no position, but to shine a light on the truth, if they can. I've no doubt that bias creeps in, but name another news outlet with less bias [please don't say SKY, because I'll choke on my laughter].

We need compostable plastic which isn't fossil-fuel based but is bio-based and therefore breaks down to harmless substances
Also doesn't generate methane when decomposing
That's my understanding anyway

If you look at the way the BBC has constantly interviewed Brexiteers, given Farage a platform to spout his doctrine and rarely given the Remain side any chance to speak, then I think that says it all. Question Time has even had UKIP candidates seeded in the audience to argue the case for Brexit. It sickens me

Andrew Marr destroyed Farage the other day. I know what you mean, but as TSS says, what’s the alternative?
