My comment about Donald Trump not lasting his term seems to be more likely. Quite interesting to follow the press on this after the Iran War / JEsus metaphors of the last two months. Quite clear that he is not fit for office and I wonder how long his supporters will stick by him, Looks like Hegseth will face impeachment should Democrats' proposal come to fruition. It feels like the tide is turning.

There have been so many events where he’s proven he’s unfit for office and so many points where it felt like the tide was turning. But he is like a cockroach. The hold he has over that die hard 30% is too strong. There are too many people who seem like they stand to lose too much if he was ousted

Sense would suggest the Republicans are in for a midterm hammering anyway but still not enough to get Democrats the all important 60 seats in the senate or
Super majority in the house. So ditching him to at least try and calm the lunacy seems like the right choice. But there are too many republican elective representatives who don’t want to lose their cosy positions of power and influence and too many people making money on the corruption and insider training

Him standing there saying the Jesus picture was him as a doctor and then screaming fake news should have been enough to see him carted off for a failed psychiatric assessment and removed from power due to being unfit to serve. But he’s still there

So I’m not holding my breath

Seems like both the US and the UK have leaders that are not fit for office. And both like cockroaches that can't be shifted, hopefully there will be more luck this side of the ocean.

Yes, Kemi has clearly shown herself to be an upgrade on ol' slowcoach Starmer. Or are you inferring that Farage is the answer? If so, it must have been a bl**dy stupid question

Yeah, because a leadership contest in Westminster is just what we need in the middle of an international crisis.

That's exactly what we do need, assuming there is someone in the Labour Party who could show some leadership. Starmer is a liability that most of the country can clearly see but there are still some who will blindly defend him. The future of this country is in the hands of a lying incompetent.

Nah, Boris Johnson has been put out to grass, thankfully.

Let it go, he was hooked out 4 years ago, this is now BJ was then. I'm sure you had your say about Johnson's incompetence at the time but now we have to stick with someone who is as bad if not worse? Why's that, because he's a fat cat Labour leader rather than a fat cat Tory one?

Chalk and cheese. Johnson took incompetence, lying and corruption to a level hitherto unseen in modern British politics. As well you know.

"Let it go, he was hooked out 4, sorry, 2, years ago, this is now BJ, sorry Labour, was then". So what counts as dragging up the past? Two years? Four years? 'Hoist by your own petard' comes to mind. 'Let him who is without sin cast the first stone'.
I'm sure we could indulge in a series of "You're as bad as them" statements, but I'd always assumed that reasoned debate is more useful than name-calling.
