Wow what?

Im genuinely asking. To me I was equally horrified by both sets of riots. But in my opinion the soft policing of previous riots is a big catalyst for the trouble this week
You aren’t equally anything. You are still on the same muslims killing little kids narrative. You just called Starmer Stalin for calling racist thugs racist thugs.
700 people smashing up a hotel with terrified immigrants in it. Setting light to cars and attacking police during a vigil for dead children. It is all just part of your anti-foreigner, right wing fascist agenda.

Mate you’re so boring and frankly offensive.

I am not a racist. If you knew me and the demographics of my family in real life the idea is laughable.

People are allowed different opinions. Get off your moral high horse

Yeah I think you are. A non-racist would not have repeated the kid killing thing.

By a violent criminal. The protests are because people don’t feel safe in England anymore.

Why are you making things up?
Oh man. You are lying to yourself as well. A week ago you were screaming about this being another muslim attack. You then repeat it and place it next to a different muslim attack in your sentence.

Just say the kids were killed by a boy from Wales with no links to Islam.

I find your whole way of discussing things morally repugnant. I am just going to do everyone a favour and block you.

You’re projecting man. I just listed crimes that occurred in the last week.

The point is that labelling everyone far right won’t solve anything. The government needs to start listening to people instead of going all draconian

That is a point that's been made by a fair few people this week, so on that you're very much in the majority, not disagreeing with the majority.

Already done
Made 606 a happier place <cheers>

The fact we've now got two separate groups repeatedly clashing and jumping people means this has potential to get much worse than 2011 and to go on much longer.

It's going to take more than a few jail sentences (which will still take a while to occur) to nip this in the bud.

Tear gas and water cannons time for me. Words about thuggery and far right aren't going to cut it.

I have to say (and I'm not just saying this because it's Labour), the government have been 2 steps behind since it first kicked off. The Cobra meeting was far too late in happening and the police clearly aren't coping. Bringing in the army has to be considered at this stage. It's obviously a huge move to do that - using the army against UK citizens is unprecedented in modern times - but law and order has to be re-asserted and quickly.

I wouldn't do that personally. The army aren't trained in these type of crowd control situations without using their weapons.

Would only take one nervous soldier to fire a warning shot and things are escalating further yet again.

I'd like to see us consider the use of tactics not currently in use in England though such as water cannons etc.

Yeah, same here. I think they’re rightly very cautious about the optics of sending the military in to deal with this (both within the military itself and wider society)
