I liked your post but I don't really, such a conflict of interest wouldn't be allowed in many walks of life.

On a global scale COP 28 in the UAE where one of the biggest oil and gas extraction expansions is planned. The CEO of Sultan Al Jaber is the chief executive of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and president of the Cop28 summit a clear conflict of interest.

Personally, I'm blaming the Woke Liberal Left-Leaning Establishment for everything. The sooner we can join up with the Transvaal/Orange Free State/Broederbond, and concentrate on building a truly Aryan world, the better. Oops, have I said too much?

So, with the Rwanda immigration scheme unsurprisingly jogged on in the Courts, we all know the Tories views on this and the approach has failed, and they need another immigration plan/policy.

I was hoping the other parties could set out its plan on the matter. Instead, from all parties, all we seem to get is more ****ing arguing.

I seriously doubt any side is fit to take office right now.

I am a voter who is very likely to not vote Tory, and imagine there are many like me across the country, and many on here. I still don't know enough about what a Labour or Lib Dem government will do for me, and think this is another opportunity missed, as they'd all rather squabble like kids, cos that is just what the country needs.

I'm not a Labour supporter but I think they've been calling for processing of asylum seekers to be sped up from what appears to be a deliberate slow down. Surely better funding of the application backlog using what's left of the mis-spent Rwanda funds is a better plan as is overseas processing facilities. I'll give this and other sources a read and draw my conclusions then. It would be cynical of me to think it's in some ways a deliberately exacerbated problem.

Allowing these people, many with usable skills, to work as they are in here in the Netherland would also benefit the country.
"As an asylum seeker in the Netherlands, you are allowed to work for 24 weeks a year. Your asylum application must be pending for at least 6 weeks. You also need an established employment permit (a TWV in Dutch)." Decision making is also considerable quicker here.

In my own strange world (lifelong socialist mixed with a dash of right wing fascist zeal) I just wish the efforts put into sinking small boats, building walls or renting big boats could be focussed on inviting immigrants in to help with skill shortages in the uk.

Want uk citizenship? work in an approved area (nhs/agriculture/hospitality/care services) for 5yrs and it's yours. At present the method, laws and attitudes towards anyone (apart from a very rich chap) entering the country are outdated and not fit for use. It may seem too extreme for some to insist on integration and a willingness to enter a government paid work scheme, but nothing is near to working now.

Of course the Rwanda plan failed. Suella is right. It was built to make people think something was being done, then fail. Rishi is a Blairite globalist steered by economists. He sees the country as a balance sheet, not a society with a shared history and culture.

Globalists see people as interchangeable pegs to be moved around to where they generate the most GDP. They don't see a difference between an atheist from Amersham and an Islamic fundamentalist from Kabul. They're just nodes to generate GDP.

OPEN BORDERS GOOD BECAUSE LINE ON GRAPH GO UP!

Even the (supposedly conservative) Economist blithely speaks about the benefits (ie, GDP boost) of letting people from violent failed states move to the stable and prosperous UK - without any recognition of why that stability and prosperity came about, as if it's just a condition of the land under our feet. Land that doesn't belong to the people whose ancestors tilled it by the way - ever since Labour opened the borders with the intention of, as Mandelson confessed, "rubbing the right's nose in it" and bringing in Labour voters.

That's how democracy works now - if the voters don't like the government, the government can change the voters.

(And hypnotise the voters to back the plan. "Diversity = strength", "border control is Nazi", "raaaaacist!")

And bring in workers. The state doesn't want you to have kids. That costs the state money in healthcare and education and the kids won't even be ready to work for a couple of decades. It's far more economically viable to bring in fully grown workers from other countries. If this pushes down wages and pushes up house prices, making it more difficult for Brits to have kids - that's a feature, not a bug.

GDP per capita go down - but bring in enough people and country's GDP go up. LINE GO UP!

Does Rishi even see himself as British? Until 2 years ago he had a green card to live in America and become a citizen. His wife wasn't paying tax here. He's the caretaker manager of a country-corporation. It's just a stepping stone to lucrative international consultancy work, pocketing millions advising the Saudis, like Blair. He won't have to live with the consequences of his government.

Where will this demographic change end? Maybe we'll all end up holding hands around a maypole. Or maybe we 'll add to the lessons of Lebanon, Yugoslavia, Armenia, etc. Who cares when line on graph go up? Line on graph v important. Only far-right racists don't want line on graph to go up!

The issue with that is skilled immigrants normally want to bring along their wife and children, so people who would be expected to welcome doctors/dentists/engineers or similar with open arms tend to become a bit sniffy when a skilled individual also requires citizenship for their family.

Tough titties. What is safety worth, let the family incur their own set tariff. If we are selling off the right to stay in the uk lets do it to someone other than a Russian git who's fallen out with Putin. What is better working as a fruit / veg picker for 5yrs and being paid something, or waiting for 5yrs in limbo while the ever-changing legal attempts to deport you clog up the courts?
