Exactly. Poverty in this country has reached shocking levels, even among families in work.

 

Sorry to change the subject, but I found this on Facebook. A bit unfair on the SNP as they only stood in 59 seats, but you get the idea:

See the new Lenny Henry stuff.... “I never thought I’d be raising money to feed homeless children in the UK”... or words to that affect.

 

Why the hell should we need a charity to raise money to stop our children being homeless and hungry in 20 fecking 20

mate I see it almost on a daily basis I see families that really struggle. I can see it at the school just round the corner from me. In this day and age it shouldn't be that way. I frequently hear the argument that the parents don't help the situation you see a mother with a fag in her mouth in a bloody food queue. Once again the minority are damaging the majority. Just because of one stupid parent people are happy to believe that to be the bloody norm..............

Hey no worries mate sometimes we all get carried away sometimes its not always easy to put over the point you are making in print. Or is that just me?

 

Childcare in general in this country is a joke. If you're on a below-average wage, it actually makes more sense for the mum to claim benefits than go back to work, due to how much it costs.

The fact that the SNP are a Scotland only party rather skews things. If you look at the voting breakdown all the other three parties are in the race. This means that the SNP scoring 45/46% only leaves 54% to split three ways. The only seats the SNP didn't win relied on a large amount of tactical voting to win any of them.
