I was offered a significant amount of money to switch companies years ago, but preferred to stay with the one I was with as the future with them looked better. Ultimately it was the right decision, as someone else I knew took up the offer and his career went down the pan.

... fair play to you but the analogy doesn't work here ... Spurs future looking brighter than that of Real Madrid?

If Barca or Real seriously came in for Riyad Mahrez he'd more than likely go ... and whilst I'd be really sorry to see him go, as he is, IMHO, the most skillful player I have seen at the club in all my time watching, he'd have my best wishes and gratitude for what he has done for us in his time here ...

... different to your situation perhaps, because Dele Alli hasn't yet contributed to any tangible trophy success for the club ... so it's more unfulfilled promise and a sense of "what might have been" should he leave ...

I said his career went down the pan, not the company. Los Ladrones will not fail, probably not City either but Dele may not be so effective there. At the moment he is in a team and the future looks good
Unless your wide boy spends £150 million on better players you will lose pace because City, Liverpool & United will spend upward of £300 million this summer.

Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just reporting what Pochettino has said. I would have thought that he would have wanted to throw a wet blanket on any rumour about Alli leaving Spurs, but his comments were more than a little 'open ended' about his future. And why did he say that he was 'so sad' Something lost in translation ?

He's so sad to be leaving London for Barcelona?

Some of us go to the stadium, you should try going to the Lane some time before your home form collapses at Wembley next year!

Enjoy!
I don't exactly live just down the road...it's over 1000 miles away.

I had hoped to get across there and go. But the tickets for home games are impossible to get unless you're prepared to pay hundreds per ticket.

Whether we will be at Wembley next season is still yet to be decided.

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he "cannot guarantee" that Dele Alli or any of his star players will be at Tottenham next season.

And Pochettino admits that he does not know what the future holds but urged fans to trust that he and those in charge at White Hart Lane know what they're doing.

"I cannot guarantee anything in life. The most important is to enjoy the present," Pochettino said. "I am so sad, we have to enjoy the present and not think about the future."

We seem to have done ok without that so far!

I realise that it's Chav mentality that the answer to everything is to chuck a few hundred million more at it, but we've done pretty well following another path.

Indeed I can picture your trophy cabinet bursting with alternative trophies. <laugh>

I rarely drink tbh as I have an intolerance to alcohol anything more than two pints makes me feel sick an bloated but I know your ok on the soup.<ok>

You'll believe what you choose to. But, as you claim, I rarely if ever drink more than 2 pints. I work damn hard in the gym most days and a beer in the evening is my reward.

My health and fitness are far too important to me to ruin them by abusing alcohol.

That's good it's nice to see old guys trying to keep fit especially on the Costa del Lager.

He was utter ****e when you bought him back. You basically mugged off Liverpool, then gave them the bulk of their money back for a player who was shot.
It was funny mugging Liverpool for £20m for him, but you wummed yourselves by buying him back though.

We sold for £19m and bought back for £12m 6 months later.

Scored 11 goals in around 30 matches but was used as a sub a lot due to his drinking trip to Dublin.

You know some prick doesn't have much to go on when hes trying to dig at you for that...seriously it easier just to double barrel him.

It's beautiful watching all these knobbers trying to sell our team off <laugh>

What IF, what IF scenarios are being treated as gospel aswell <laugh>

I know he's a prick, mate. I suppose that I'm an eternal optimist and think that even halfwits, like him, have a modicum of common sense.
