He's going to mention it as an example of ongoing ****wittery, but it's an FA issue, rather than an EFL one. The FA have been sent copies of the images already, though they're probably replicas, so I'm not sure they'll be able to do anything (not that they would anyway). Ironically, today's EFL meeting is about 'supporter engagement'.
The photo appeared on my Facebook today. Deplorable. Anyone know when this deed was carried out? They are trying their best to provoke a response, but we don't seem to be biting yet again.
What even is that trophy? It doesn't say Championship Runners up but it says "vs Cardiff City" which is bizarre. Makes me wonder, did we actually get a runners up trophy for that season or has Ehab just bought a random one and had it engraved?
The main Football League Champions trophy stand 70cms high and are silver plated with three gold plated handles. The runners up receive a two handled trophy, 45 cms high, in silver plate with gold handles. The Play-Off Final trophies are to the same design as the League Champions trophies, except they are silver plated only and stand 60cms high.
There is a Sky Bet trophy presented to the winners and runners up. Which is why Sky Bet ribbons are on it. It is a fair assumption that Sky Bet didn't have it engraved with Hull Tigers.
I'm not sure that one does have ribbons on. In one of the pictures you can see a ribbon to one side of that trophy but it's probably from a different trophy sat alongside it, given that you can see there isn't a ribbon on the other side. The wording of the engraving is really weird. It doesn't say what we achieved or how. It just states the opposition we played against in a match that we drew.
Apologies if this has already been said, but I don’t think it’s a case of getting it engraved when it wasn’t I don’t think that base existed at all when we got it, so what they’ve actually done is had a matching base made and had that engraved (clearly by someone that knows **** all about football) and then stood the actual trophy on it ...which will also be why the FA will be able to do **** all about it, sadly
No it isn’t It’s wngraved on a big base which, while it looks like part of that, isn’t. Check the various photos of previous events when the trophies have been displayed The bottom part of the actual trophy is the section with wavy lines on it I think the trophy is simply placed on a large base made to look like part of the actual trophy and it’s that which has been engraved ...I think
I think you could well be right, putting a new plinth on it is typical ****wittery the Allam's would do.
