1 point worth mentioning is that the 25 man squad MUST include a minimum of 8 'home grown' players and can be added to by any number of players who are under 21. Bart would qualify as home grown as would Lallana and possibly Morgan, but I can't think of anyone else in the above list to make up the eight.
Not quite as home grown means trained at any English/Welsh club for three years between 16th and 21st birthdays, not just our own club. So all our British players count.
Its 3 or 4 between 16 and 21. I think there is another rule where 4 of the 25 have to be home grown at the club, but if you leave spaces in your 25 then it counts (so we could have Lallana, Bart and Schneiderlin in the 25 and only name a 24 man squad). I'm pretty sure aswell that only 1 current Prem team have filled their 25 man allocation, most are under the limit.
I'd expect to see Jaidi given some hands-on experience with Saints, nothing confirmed anywhere yet tho. There was an article on skysports about his ambition to be a manager so hopefully one day we'll see him do that! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7191907/
Interesting to see peoples opinions, I would like to see the following leave; Harding Bart Connolly Puncheon Forecast Forte Barnard Butterfield Dickson Holmes Jaidi (obviously retiring)
Talking of youth players, we can have as many under-21s in the squad as we like, which will prove fantastic given the club's vision. I like the Independant's article on the squad factor: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-the-25man-squad-rules-do-matter-2052167.html
Can't wait till we loan out the likes of Callum Chambers, Luke Shaw, Jack Stephens and co. - they will rip up the lower leagues and everyone will be falling over themselves to get their hands on them. Only to realise they belong to us, a Premier League club.
Yes, and also that these most promising and talented youngsters will be able to stay with us to experience the Premier League, and are far less likely to be stolen 'Arsenal style'. Finally...!
Its v late and my typing skills are waning but this sums up the Chaplow argument very well and could i not have put it better myself
I agree Forecast, Dickson, Forte, Holmes, and Jaidi are surely out. Likely Connolly or Barnard would be next. We will need to make space and they are certainly replaceable with out spending a lot. After that I think it will depend on how many NA brings in. Each one after the 4th means someone else will need to go.
Radhi Jaidi, Dan Harding, Lee Barnard, David Connolly, Dean Hammond, Danny Seaborne, ?????????????????????????
Indeed, he said it so many times, I wonder why there has been any confusion as to whether he will carry on playing or not. His name is Radhi Jaidi, not Ronnie O'Sullivan.
