I want to know what would happen if my Mum had been on holiday in Los Angeles when I was born? Would I be a plastic for not supporting LA Galaxy?

What if someone is the result of a one-night stand, (no I wasn't!) where one parent lives in Hull and the other Leeds? They may happen to have been born in Hull say, but then equally spend their time between the two cities.

I've lived in Manchester for 18 years - nearly half my life. Am I a plastic now for not supporting Man City or Man United. Or even Stockport County who are just down the road?

Paint it however you want but being from Leeds and supporting City is no better than being from Hull and supporting TWS

Who said anything about everybody in the world supporting City? Just everyone from Hull would do me. Plastics have proven beyond a doubt, by being glory hunters, that they know nothing of real football and the support that goes along with it therefore any opinion they have on anything football related is null and void and no amount of hippy boll ocks, everyone to their own, live and let live mealy mouthed cr ap will change that.

They argument of their dad/grandads etc supported them is null and void as well, heres why;

A. their dad/grandad was from that city/town so supported his home town club so the child should have taken that on board and realised its the home town club part that is important
B. their dad/grandad were plastic fans as well so they were plastic idiots and following in the footsteps of plastic idiots makes you an even bigger pastic idiot with an opinion that is null and void.

Quite simple really.

Well someone is.

But why does it matter?! You don't have to support the team down the road! Otherwise I'd be supporting South Cave Sporting or whatever they're called now!

It's not just about where you're born, it's about having some connection with the team or the pace where the team play. It's about having a connection, not simply selecting a team.

It's said life starts at conception! So someone on here could have been created behind a pub in Grimsby? So when it goes quiet at the Xmas table just drop the question in to the parents & we'll see who should be supporting who! :-)

What an absolute crock of **** you dim witted buffoon.

My whole family, both sides, are from the East Riding and have been for generations as far back as I know. My immediate family happened to move to Leicestershire just before I was born, so I'm born and bred Leicestershire. Still I went to my first city game around my 3rd birthday back in the dark days of near relegation from the football league and financial doom (not that I really understood at the time, it was just football). It's a 2 hour drive each way but I have my season ticket every year and go to every home game and a fair deal of aways.

I used to wear my tiger pattern city kit for P.E. in school and get teased by the other children who supported, at the time premier league and cup winning Leicester, who never even heard of Hull. I used to get told I couldn't be Dean Windass when we played football on the grounds no one had heard of him. I could have gone glory hunting at Filbert Street but I was brought up a tiger at boothferry park and I stuck to my allegiances.

But according to some fish brained clown without the ability to think outside his little bubble I'm a glory hunting plastic <doh>

You have completely failed to answer any of my questions and are just digging yourself a bigger hole. So go on - try again. If you feel that strongly about this subject you will have answers.

What you've failed to realise is the reason the East Yorkshire Whites are criticised so much is because they are from Hull but have zero connections to the city of Leeds. Now I've explained my reasons and my very strong family connections to Hull.

If you're seriously suggesting the only reason for supporting any club is Political Geography then you are a bit of an idiot.

You support your home team end of.

I'd give up if I were you. You know you've been defeated by every response from everyone on here.

But as you insist on persisting I'll challenge you for a third time to answer the three questions I posted. Particularly now you're using the term 'home team' and I've lived in Manchester for 18 years.

Well SnB I gotta take my hat off to you. You've achieved something rarely seen on here. Almost universal agreement.

My aunt is from Portugal, is that a strong enough tie for me to stop supporting England and choose Portugal as my national team?

Thers not many challengers to Tickles and Patty as the biggest ****ing embarassments on here. Well done SNB. Dont let them have it all their own way.

As I said I tend to tune out

What you're saying is what I said earlier - you know you've been defeated. I think everyone on this forum can see that. I've asked you four times now about different scenarios that could or could not define a plastic fan and you have absolutely no answer and no clue what you are talking about. I've even offered to answer your perfectly reasonable question if you could provide some sensible answers to mine but you declined.

You have decided that that the only reason for supporting a team is Political Geography. No thoughts or feelings that there is more to life and football than that. No thoughts that family and emotions might sometimes just run stronger than a simple place of birth. This to me suggests that you are a cold-hearted, superficial and downright arrogant human being.

Look it's really simple, you don't seem to betting it so I'll walk you through it one more time, you support your home town team

Plastics do annoy me. However, I agree with DMD that it is about the connection you have to the club. If you're family all fiercely support a team then you're not a plastic for doing the same. To me most people support the team their dad supported, regardless of geographical location.

As a young lad you're not usually preoccupied with geographical locations and notions of pride/heritage of a place. It's "my dad supports City so I will" for most people.

Incidentally both my dad and I were born and bred here so it makes no difference.
