If they want to support somebody else that's their loss. You only ever support one team and if somebody is talking about theirs, why would I tune them out? If they're talking about Manchester United or Liverpool then so what? Some people choose to support these teams because their parents or grandparents did and their affinity to that particular club isn't going to be removed when their local club gets into the Premier League. If people want to support other clubs then fine, that's their choice. It's only when they start slagging off my club/city that I get annoyed. But if it's just banter then what's the problem? If everybody in the world supported City, then it'd be ****ing boring.

<laugh> No it's not a picture of the advertising boards. It's actually a photo of my Dad and Uncle celebrating promotion, that I took from the pitch after the Cardiff match in May. Given recent personal events I thought it'd be appropriate even though no-one but me knows what it is.

I'll see if I can find something a tad better at some point.

Well it exceeds the maximum pixel size but worked! My Dad's in the background with last season's top on. I think that's as good as I can get it.

Who said anything about everybody in the world supporting City? Just everyone from Hull would do me. Plastics have proven beyond a doubt, by being glory hunters, that they know nothing of real football and the support that goes along with it therefore any opinion they have on anything football related is null and void and no amount of hippy boll ocks, everyone to their own, live and let live mealy mouthed cr ap will change that.

    They argument of their dad/grandads etc supported them is null and void as well, heres why;

    A. their dad/grandad was from that city/town so supported his home town club so the child should have taken that on board and realised its the home town club part that is important
    B. their dad/grandad were plastic fans as well so they were plastic idiots and following in the footsteps of plastic idiots makes you an even bigger pastic idiot with an opinion that is null and void.

    Quite simple really.

Guess I've been a complete plastic for the last, well nearly 30 years I suppose then. All the tributes I've recently been paying to my Dad are completely null and void now guys - I've been wrong to use family links all along. Geography is far more important than family apparently so I guess I'll just have to go and support Leeds now.

My Dad and all previous were born in Hull. I was born in Leeds but was taken to support Hull City by my Dad when I was young - my support started then and has never waned.

Even though I agree with the team you support I would be a hypocrite if I said i though it was ok for you to support City when you're from a different city.

Unfortunately theres no difference between someone from Leeds supporting City and someone from Hull supporting TWS and how many times have we seen those people getting sl agged off on here? Anyone who says different is a complete hypocrite.

Well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it but I think you're completely wrong. Strong family links were for me far far more important than the geographical place I happened to start life and I think are a completely justifiable reason to support Hull City. Must be even harder for you to accept given that Leeds were allegedly the bigger of the clubs, especially even more so back then.

Now who was it who said they only support Hull City cos their favourite animals at the zoo were tigers? (Actually I do know but am not going to say).

I did. Why did you think I was quoting somebody?

If somebody is born into a family that supports Manchester City, why would you chastise them for supporting somebody else? It's up to them. If they shell out the cash to go to the games, or have a season pass then how can you knock them? There are plenty that don't bother and just follow the big clubs, but they're few and far between. How can a child growing up in a family that supports another club break out and change their team? By the time they start interacting with other kids who are City fans, they'll already be supporting that other club.
New City fans aren't going to come from those who already support other clubs, they're going to come from young kids growing up in the area.

Don't be a ****ing idiot. You do this all the time with your 'liberal' and 'hippy' bullshit claims when anybody with a three figure IQ responds to your posts. How can somebodies choice of football team give them little or no opinion? What's their knowledge relative to? Your knowledge? Well if you know so much about football, then great, but saying somebody can't have an opinion because they support Man U but live somewhere else is complete cock. What about all those fans living abroad? All the Swedish, Norweigan and American Tigers fans who can't get across to watch our games? Does that make them plastics? Does it buggery.

    Don't douche this up.

How many times have we seen on this board alone, people from Hull being slated for supporting Leeds? To say its fine to do it the other way around smacks of hypocrisy. I don't mean to personally have a go at you but I'd be a hypocrite if I agreed with it

I want to know what would happen if my Mum had been on holiday in Los Angeles when I was born? Would I be a plastic for not supporting LA Galaxy?

What if someone is the result of a one-night stand, (no I wasn't!) where one parent lives in Hull and the other Leeds? They may happen to have been born in Hull say, but then equally spend their time between the two cities.

I've lived in Manchester for 18 years - nearly half my life. Am I a plastic now for not supporting Man City or Man United. Or even Stockport County who are just down the road?
