I had never understood the phobia of snakes, people being absolutely petrified of them. I remember visiting family abroad one time, got up in the morning to find a snake in the pool, thought i better get rid of this before the rest of the family get up. Me being the foolish twat i am, didn't give a second thought to reach my hand in the pool to grab it out, when a voice suddenly yells behind me, don't touch it! A family member who i was staying with, thankfully had woke up in time and promptly told me it was poisonous! As you can guess, I'm a bit more cautious these days, similar situation, demonstrated in video below, once you get pass the stupid screaming overlap...skip to about 2 mins in...

I used to be really scared of snakes, didnt help being born where I was and having the frighteners put on me to keep away from snakes as a kid

Also didn't help seeing my mum pick up would Chips and a big **** off cobra being in there. Luckily she has grabbed its head, in the wood chips, and was not bitten but it scared the crap out of her and me

Not so bad now. But still get nervous

Flying is my only real phobia that I have to deal with. I categorically refuse to fly with ****ty no-mark airlines, to the point where if they're the only operator then I just won't go.

I remember when I booked flights with KLM to Romania and one of their 'partner' airlines was flying. Never doing that again, the plane rattled worse than Fosse all the way to Bucharest.

The bigger airlines have more to lose so I trust they do more security checks, although I still don't trust the pilots.

Pilots...like that selfish bastard who killed himself but took the passengers with him.

Track records show a fair few big companies have crashed...Easy Jet, economy flights seem to be good.

Depends where the airlines are registered really. Pretty much all of them in the ‘developed’ countries are safe as houses, although Ryan Air take some risks in terms of cutting costs to the point where airside staff are overworked stressed and fatigued.

Most of the really sketchy airlines are blacklisted from UK airspace. So you won’t find any airlines from the Democratic republic of Congo at Heathrow. They have some of the worst air safety records in the world and crashes are frightenly regular.

Give aeroflot a miss then.

Thats the scariest flight I've ever had.
