I do agree Chazz. For the most part it was a fairly valiant defensive display, albeit with a few glaring errors that Man U failed to capitalise on. But nothing looks much different from the Bruce era. We look to get the ball forward a bit quicker and more centrally which is probably a big plus, but otherwise it's still defensive, dour, backs to the wall and it's always a game of chance of whether the opposition can make constant heavy pressure pay.
Bringing off our only attacking outlet for another centre half was a tragic decision. Was he not around for the amount of times Bruce did it and we went on to concede? Ridiculous. Harry should have had that ball covered too, just stood there, hesitated a bit and watched it roll past him.
Despite the results I've not seen enough on the pitch to suggest Phelans the man to take us forward. We need someone a little more daring IMO. The teams who have been unexpectedly successful haven't done it by sitting back and defending. The teams who have got themselves relegated have. Go figure.
