At this very moment our current available team is worse - add the pace of Odubajo & Robbo plus a confident Hernandez & we'd be a few points better off or at least having a go at teams

Last season we had loads of options in every position. Hayden, Aluko, Taylor all hardly got a game. Akpom was in and out. Diomande hardly ever played. Etc etc. Tymon and Bowen were absolutely nowhere near. Now we're filling our bench with kids and our only attacking threat is Snodgrass.

For an even more alarming comparison, look at all the talent we had in 2014/15. Again we couldn't fit them all in and yet still we really struggled and went down. This year our squad is a million miles away from being as good as that relegation team from two years ago. Every single point we pick up with this team is an achievement.

mad to think 2 years ago we had a team with

ben arfa
ramirez
diame
long
jelavic
brady etc

i'm a tad gutted odubajo won't get to play in the prem with us

he can be a special player

i remember a year or two ago, mason was getting rave reviews at spurs

Dunno what you're on about but Leicester are a perfect example. Are there fans booing because they've not continued their incredible form from last season? Or are they being realistic and realising they're not entitled to anything?

Spitting their dummies out everywhere.

Saw one on facebook proclaim how he'd refuse to watch this embarrassment and would revert to watching Liverpool.

I actually think Phelan's doing a decent job with what he has available. Coming off a big defeat to Sunderland and WBA's great display at Burnley I have no problem with holding them for the first half. We would've won that game if it wasn't for another error. Individual errors have been killing us.

We need at least 5 to come in January. A centre half, a right back, a strong presence in midfield, a winger and at least one striker is an absolute must.

Must have been for card tricks..

Can't see the Allams putting up much in the way of funds, Papa would support Brucie (as he said) but Ehab will be scrimping with Phelan AND demanding survival

I wasn't freezing tonight - indeed far from it. I had my new padded coat on... mind you with Ehaw running the show, by the time the season has finished I'll have a new padded cell to go with the coat.

Can't beat a proper coat. I've got one of those 3 in 1's with synthetic down type insulation. Warm as ****, just a t shirt under it is enough. Weighs nowt and all.

It worked for Leicester because they had some very good players. We don't have anyone like Mahrez, Vardy, Okazaki. We don't even have an Ulloa or Schlupp. We've just got Snodgrass.

Beating Swansea was overachieving because they've got a premier league squad. They've been mid table PL for years. They've got a world cup winner up front. We're playing kids and reserves who never got near our team in the championship last season out of pure desperation. I don't get why people can't see how bad the squad situation actually is.

People do, you're bigging yourself up needlessly.

The difference is that others know nothing can be done for now, same with the manager, so why keep droning on about it? Some might prefer 3-5-2, I know I do, but we won, ugly, but we won. We have a manager and team who are simply getting on with a poor state of affairs, a GK (Jak) who is playing a blinder and all you can do is criticise him.

We won despite Phelan's inability to see the obvious .. this squad of players .. albeit threadbare .. look more comfortable in a 3-5-2 .. Robbo and Elmo are not full backs per say.. neither are good enough defensively in a flat back 4 .. but they do offer an attacking threat .. We have looked much better playing with two up front to occupy the opposing defence .. so why do we persist with the flat 4 and 1 up front .. for me it beggars belief .. I know we don't have a lot of quality but ffs play to our strengths instead of always worrying about the opposition .. teams like Sunderland .. WBA .. Burnley .. Boro etc aren't much better with what they have but at least their managers try to play to their own strengths

I said the same mid-way through the first half Shelvey was running midfield, we should have changed to 352 and wrestled the midfield back. Changed a bit in the second half when Hudd and Livermore changed roles, and I think is was Meyler put a heavy tackle in on Shelvey after that he was less effective.

Mike Phelan the only Hull City manager to get us into a league cup semi-final. Down to ten men, coming back from a goal down to take the tie to penalties and eventual victory. Not bad with no recognised right back, a left back trying to get match fit and a midfield that has attracted its fair share of criticism over the years.

I don't always agree with Phelans team selections or tactics but let's look at the facts.

We have the smallest and weakest squad in the PL.
We have had injuries to more key players than any other team in the PL.
He's not been backed by the owners, they could barely be bothered to give him a contract.
There's a toxic atmosphere at the club and the ground is now half empty for games.

Despite all this he has kept us within reach of safety in the PL and has become the most successful manager we've ever had in the League Cup competition.

Say what you want about him but he deserves some credit and more importantly some respect, which I don't think he gets from a lot of our fans.
