Tbf if you look at how they go about rating players its quite in depth, researcher for each team who has to attend all games including reserves and u21s

Yeah, but they're not qualified scouts, they just use local divs who turn up to the club they support and then give feedback on the players!

I had to pay my £30m forward Justin Georcelin about £100k a week to stay at United on FM/Championship Manager 01/02 and he ended up a crackhead in real life. Swings and roundabouts.
 
Just remember that Everton signed a deal with them to use their scouting knowledge a few years back... Been quite a few players who have turned out brilliantly on FM that have done it in real life... Marco Veratti was a beast you could buy for 100k a while back, now he is a terrific player for PSG. Saying that, some of them do turn out bad, but that's the nature of the beast.

And with Justin Georcelin, he may have had the potential, but not the willpower to succeed.
 
Everton must have used that vast scouting knowledge to sign Denis Straquilursi as well, who has turned out such a star. The original creators of the game are Everton fans, which probably has something to do with that as well.

People get too wrapped up in FM thinking it's some kind of relevant database, when it's single biggest attraction is being able to unearth new talent and build a squad capable of being world beaters. Without this fantasy element being part of the fabric of the game, it would have died on it's arse as a concept. It undermines professional scouts, people ranting and raving about "I signed him on FM 2007 when he was 18", that's means nothing when chances are, the world's top scouts have been watching him since he was 11.

The highly-rated 21-year-old is understood to have been identified as a transfer target by Sunderland as manager Paolo Di Canio looks to reshape his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Velez vice-president Julio Baldomar says the two clubs are in discussions and has indicated that confirmation of a transfer could be imminent.

"The negotiations are very advanced," he said on TV Publica.

Peruzzi, who can also play on the wing but is primarily a right-back, would welcome a move to the Premier League and has spoken to Velez general manager Christian Bassedas, a former Newcastle United player, about life in the North East of England.
