Since when did the US need an excuse to don it's World Police cape?

Syria has become a vipers nest for sure, but it's quite a leap to suggest that its development as a hive for fundamentalists is a CIA strategy.....

Will probably find out when it is too late. Like we do with most things and the aims and goals to legitimise white collar mass murder has been achieved...and their corporate friends have become richer.

And they do need an excuse..of course they do.....it's how they look civil and rational to the ordinary man. Anyway I suppose we lock horns but we dont mean harm to one another....but ISIS would not hesitate in wiping you out or me. Just like the Western world would happily put you and me down as a statistic in their collateral damage statistics survey..during their orchestrated retaliation.

God bless the dead...from Paris to Palastaine and all those in between.

I agree with Spurlock that most Muslims are offended that IS attach themselves to Islam. The argument that all Muslims are responsible is the equivalent of arguing all Christians support the KKK and their lynchings.

The Muslim religion has been hijacked by IS. The members of IS may all be Muslims, but this does not mean all Muslims support what they do.

Just because Jimmy Saville worked for the BBC does not make every employee of the BBC a Peado.

As regards the involvement of the CIA, I am still surprised that the oil refineries in the areas controlled by IS have not been taken out as they sell the oil to fund their activities. Who owns these refineries? USA, Saudi Arabia,

It is a wonder why they haven't been taken out.

That is the head of the snake.

Isis ?

I'd say two reasons :

1. Because if Isis were removed, Assad would be in a better position to strengthen his position and take on the other rebels, and that would displease Saudi who are the US arms industry's best client, and who play a major role in supporting the US dollar.

2. Fear of bringing more terrorist attacks to Europe.

Mainly 1 though.

Call me a cynic but maybe bcos money/trade/economics (no matter how it is achieved) is still more important than the collateral damage of innocent lives lost?

Absolutely. There seems to be a growing appreciation of this, and in the role Saudi are playing in events.

I suspect that one day, history will see the western powers for what they are, namely :

- propagandists who lie to their own people
- supporters of a draconian warmongering nation (Saudi), for financial gain.
- trouble makers, who are prepared to sacrifice potentially millions of Syrian lives in order to undermine Iran's influence in the region and strengthen their own.

I see you've been on several boards fighting the good fight as a muslim... often ending up banging your head against a brick wall <laugh>

My experience of most muslims is indirectly through my Mrs. Her sister is married to a muslim and he has two sisters. Both couldnt be more opposite. One wears a hijab and married to a fairly religious IT consultant with in laws who are what I would consider of a more traditional mindset. The other sister is very modern and her husband would consider himself a muslim but he picks and chooses certain things e.g. conforms to food and drink practices but doesnt really pray. Yet both sisters are very close.

I wont pretend to understand everything about muslims or islam but it's interesting to see how politically aware most muslims are, particularly world politics. I disagree and agree where I see fit. There are some strong views and indifference depending on who I'm speaking to. But ALL genuinely abhor ISIS. They hsve a pretty low opinion of Israel. One thing I found interesting is that the more traditional fella (who regularly travels the world bcos of his IT business) holds a very low opinion of the american government yet cant speak highly enough of american people (although he does think most are fairly ignorant of world politics).

I guess if I didnt have as much interaction with muslims I wouldnt know as much. That applies to ppl of all faith, races etc and it's half the problem with these sorts of issues. I think ignorance on all sides feeds our differences and doesnt help. Much easier to hate than actually try to resolve the issue. I even get the impression some ppl's hatred is disjointed from the sympathy they have for the victims who have died. I'd stick my neck out and say in some cases it's used as an excuse. Anyway, lets hope the actions of those in charge try to bring ppl together rather than drive us apart.

Like all nations America has its fair share of right wing fanatics HOWEVER most of what you describe is just politics looking after national interests OR manouvering for domestic power and internal politics.

I agree about the Saudis though. They are mostly ignorant, corrupt, bigoted imbeciles from my experience of them. The best thing that can happen to them and their ppl is for the oil to run out.

Money /religion are the most evil things ever created by man.
Atrocities like France, and those conducted by the West in the East either directly or indirectly will continue until people wake the **** up and realise their religion is utter ****, all regions are utter ****, followed by brainwashed idiots.

I don't care if you are religious and live life normally, you're still an idiot imo.

Tbf everyone has the right to be an idiot. Just ask tobes  As long as they dont go around hurting anyone else they can believe what they like.

Personally I think if religion wasnt there, we'd be having the same bollox happening, just masked as something else. History shows this 5hit happens without religion as much as with it. Take away the term 'muslim' and throw in the term 'arab' and we'd still be in the same situation.

More people have been needlessly slaughtered through history in the name of religion than all the other causes put together.

Without variation, these people 'know what God wants'. Again, almost invariably 'what God wants' is for them to immediately slaughter anybody who doesn't share their view of 'what God wants'

If there is a God, perhaps he can save us from all these people who just know what he wants!

Let me tell you something, you don't know me at all.

But so that you do, I am also a Muslim. I just had my daily life to live..you know..my integrated lifestyle. Went shopping with my family, managed to walk around shopping malls without killing anybody. Managed to mind my own business and didn't preach hatred. Managed to socialise with a few of my friends who happen to be white Brits etc etc...then came home along the M62 without feeling the need to break any laws.

That's why I didn't challenge you after my last post this afternoon not because I had nothing to say <ok>

Ohh and I managed to sit at a the table in a restaurant,my little boy got a few aww's from a white couple sat next to us...I managed to not blow them up.

I was born in Britain, I have no more of a reason to integrate like I have to put effort in, than any other person.

I attend mosque and we are told on occasional Friday sermons about the negativities of terrorists...you prove otherwise if you can.

So don't come along thinking you know me just because I challenged your boxed view and of a few others. It still does not change the fact that the West and its policies has blood on its hands. It still does not change the fact that for me and many many thousands of Muslims, no millions of Muslims, I.S does not belong to Islam regardless of how hard you want Muslims to take responsibility for them.
They attach themselves to the new common enemy of the world, that is Islam. It does not mean Islam attaches itself to them.

Ohh and if Islam preached hatred then your ****ed pal, because 1.7 billion people are Muslim in this world. If we all thought I.S and what they preach is Islam..then the rest of the world would be annihilated.

So to you be your way and me be mine <ok>

What was the point of this? Who called you a terrorist or suggested all Muslims are?

Not even the Islamic terrorists believe all Muslims are terrorists. That's probably why the people killing more Muslims than anyone on this earth, are also Muslim.

That's a throwaway comment you'd need to qualify tbh. I dont agree but interested to know how you think that?

If you want to see some real nutcase responses to the Paris attack, look at the Daily Fail comments section on the matter. These include, I kid you not, the following

1.This could happened in the US with all the illegal immigrants entering the country. We need Trump to secure our borders.

2.The attacks once again underline the need for more tanks and anti-missile infrastructure in Poland and the Baltic states against the Russian aggression. If we had 40k-strong rapid-response force along the Russian border none of this would¿ve happened.

3.This just goes to show they're already here, well done Dave your should have said no to the EU, we are an island and don't need Europe

Apparently Donald Trump said, at a rally yesterday, the death toll in Paris would be a lot lower if everyone was allowed to carry guns as the terrorists would have been taken out. Yes Donald that's right. He ignores the chaos that would have ensued at say the concert if 80% of the audience had taken out guns and started shooting at anyone else with a gun assuming that they were terrorists.

God help us if he ever gets near the Whitehouse.
