Off Topic Paris (again)

When Christians, Atheists and Jews are offended there are no outbreak of violence against Muslims, and attacks on Muslim country embassies - yet the Muslims break out in violence at the mere mention of a burned Koran or Picture? What is fundamentally wrong with this religion that it resorts to violence so quickly?

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this cowardly, sensless attack. Innocent people murdered before they have had time to live a life. Dont these evil murderers realise that no matter how many lives they take they will never be victorious as there will never be an end to terrorism to make it a victory.

Ive lived on this earth for 50 years and dear god i have never been so disgusted and felt such dispair about humnaity as i do at this moment.

Living and working out here for some years now mainly Jordan and Qatar. The people I know condemn everything that happens like this, I have never felt unsafe or disrespected, in fact the opposite is true. There are an evil minority amongst all religions and creeds. I don't think there are any answers to this either.

I am a football fan. But how many football fans got tarred with the same brush as being hooligans, again a small percentage where the instigators.

I know I'll probably be shot down by some on here but I have many Muslim friends who I have been invited to they're homes and had fantastic meals and conversations with I have never felt more welcome by such people. I'm no expert but what has happened in Paris won't change my mind it is the evil amongst society that cause this and hide behind religions.

And banning the religion and closing the mosques would achieve what exactly? I can only talk from my experience here. They are mainly very nice open hearted people like us.

I am a guest in the country I work in and I behave like one. People who are born in Europe or any where else for that matter have the right to be there like it or not.

On Sky, BBC, CNN, RT they are all running this news story non stop. Meanwhile over on Al Jazeera in the run up to the top of the hour they had a news documentary on the election in Mayanmar, 5 mins of headlines at the top of the hour including the Paris attack followed by a news documentary on male circumcision going wrong in Africa.
At the end of the day when all is said and done, they just don't think like we do.

French Muslim Council: Attack Is An "Extremely Grave Barbaric Action." In a statement, the French Muslim Council condemned the Paris attack as an "extremely grave barbaric action," and called it "an attack against democracy and the freedom of the press." [AlJazeera.com, 1/7/15]

Muslim Council Of Britain Condemns Attack: "Nothing Justifies The Taking Of Life." The Muslim Council of Britain condemned the attack, saying "The Muslim Council of Britain condemns this attack. Council On American-Islamic Relations: "We Strongly Condemn This Brutal And Cowardly Attack." It seems a bit twee to simply offer my sympathies to all affected, but I have no idea what else to say.

I haven't had chance to look at what's gone on, and looking at this and a few other bits on the web, I've no real wish to. Their actions have largely drawn absolute condemnation and hardened resolve.

What I can't get my head round is, what do these people expect the outcome to be? What precisely are their demands?

RIP All victims of the Paris attacks.

That's why this a proper 'terror' attack. Against ordinary people doing ordinary things. Soft targets.

Rarely is it heads of state, politician's or military leaders these days.

Would suspect these are holders of French passports from parts of their old territories or born in the country itself which could make the French feel this is more of a civil war which in turn will lead to ordinary people viewing their Algerian/Moroccan/African neighbours in a different way.

Changes things on a number of levels.

Sad times.

Thank God, someone with a constructive and informed point of view. We have had three regular posters, Brady, Bengal Tiger and Peter Saxon,, who have shown their true colours and more than adequately displayed their lack of understanding and intolerance. This was terrorism, it is not representative of a religion, nor is it representative of a regional culture, those things are seperate.
