Gave up a few months ago, the Newcastle - Liverpool game yesterday was the first one I have watched in months. And once again, I hated every second of it. The removal of Pardew is only a small fix, it needs reinvestment.

Edit: Not to say that I don't watch because we're not winning trophies and competing, I only ask that we play a style of football that could be atleast considered nice to watch. Not the five minutes of short passing, hoof it up the field, regroup, repeat, concede, half time, concede, lose. Strategy we currently have.

Seems like the only thing that we all need to get through our thick skulls is that Ashley could not give a monkeys if the ground is empty, as long as his main business's branding is seen by a global audience. Whether the football is good or bad, whether the squad is full or threadbare, only two things matter to the owner - Premier League status and being self-sufficient. He does not want to spend another penny of his £5.5bn fortune on this club, to the point where he expects free advertising for his loathsome, tracksuit shifting tat store. The money that comes from the Toon Army is worth pennies to this guy. His shops have millions upon millions of customers, it doesn't matter if 50,000 northerners are offended or upset by the club and it's owners. He has stumbled upon the most lucrative advertising agreement in history - he bought an asset, loaned the club the money to bail itself out of relegation and has then proceeded to bank free advertising to an audience of over one billion eyes, in markets he is already or would like to crack. Even Sir John Hall has put into writing that he knew Ashley only wanted exposure in the Far East for his brand, what happens to the club is neither linked to S*****s D*****t nor is it necessary for Newcastle United to be successful for SD to continue to make money. The one and only thing that matters is that pictures of SJP, billboards with SD, is continually beamed to hundreds of millions of people every week, via media, live television, and so on.

The sooner we realise that our club is dead, the better it will be for all of us. Leave "football" to the money men now. Support a local club, get behind Gateshead or whichever club is local to you. Follow a different sport, spend time with your kids, save your money, but more beer, rent hookers, whatever. Nothing you do will change Ashley's mind. He is an arrogant, petulant, spoilt brat with a bob or two more than most. So why spend another fcking penny trying?

You having another rant day. <laugh>

I completely subscribe to your point at the end too. I have no expectancy whatsoever that this club will ever compete for the league or even for fourth. But to see three left backs on the field at the same time makes no fcking sense whatsoever, in any circumstances. The lack of fight or spirit within the team is all too evident. The fact Remy could just pick or choose when to play does not tell me that the manager has this club fighting for points, the fact we set up with 9 defenders at Anfield again tells you he'd rather try to not get beat, even though the game was more or less meaningless.

Look at Palace - had a storming end to the season. Stoke were fairly consistent, as were Southampton. Everton had a cracking season. None have different pool of players to us, none are markedly better propositions to join. But there's something remiss in there, passion or tactical understandings, but whatever it is means not a fcking thing to Ashley.

Haha yeah the least said about Saturday the better.

I'll enjoy the World Cup and be cheering on two sides that I want to see win it - Italy and Holland. Gave up on England years ago.

I read a rumour that Pardew still might be sacked, in favour of Steve Bruce. The delay is the Cup final.

Interesting.

Why would Ashley pay a manager when Pardew works for free for him to pay off his gambling debts?

How is Pardew possibly going to win the fans back around?? We're not going to sign players that will get him out of this hole. But when the fans then realise this to be the case, and that the chanting or booing actually makes zero difference, they will simply stop going.

Again I don't think a half empty stadium will make any difference either, so I can well see us just being a dead, floating club and Ashley will enjoy every second of it. We have this Summer to change opinions, I imagine, but if all goes as we expect then it will be nailed on that Ashley is little more than a spoilt, bitter child with a bit more money than most to spite people with.

What makes you think that is part of his remit? He only has to finish in the top 10 every year on limited resources. Happy fans and pleasure does not come into it for Mike.

500k per year according to the accounts, that is one cheap PL manager! Is anyone on less I wonder?

He's the lowest paid manager in the league. No surprises there.

Anyone know what the next lowest manager is on? You know what they say:

Gus is tailor made for Ashley. As a Chelsea fan though, he could never inflict such pain on a club legend. No wonder he hated KK so much, he had a connection with Fulham.
