I'd have to disagree but that discussion has been done to death on this board. Personally while I think he has had a poor season, there have been a multitude of factors which have brought about the current situation. Just as it was a combination of factors the previous year that got us such a high placed over achieving finish. That includes his management and tactics which were excellent.
It always is a combination of things in my view.
I'd prefer we looked longer term and allowed him the chance to learn from the mistakes this year. I don't agree with the modern way of giving up when you have bad season and just writing off all that's gone before, looking for quick fixes that do not exist.
Unfortunately for Pards, the modern way is what it is and therefore he'll be lucky to keep his job. The majority of fans dislike him (its got pretty personal now too) which means its probably an uphill struggle the board will feel he can't reverse. Once the crowd turn here, you are in real trouble as a manager.
Ok, so say we give him another season and allow him the chance to learn from his mistakes. At which point do we say enough is enough? If we go half the season and we are hovering around the bottom 3, surely it's too late and there's another season ruined?
We could give him a few games and see what happens, but didn't we have a decent start this season?
We could wit until January/ February and it may be too late, we may not end up escaping by the skin of our teeth next time.
We have the worst injury record around which is a contributing factor, but other stats are very worrying and point to the manager/ coaching staff. We've conceded the most goals, not scored many, never score from corners etc etc. As you say this has been done to death.
I understand your argument for stability, but I see little else in favor of keeping Pardew. Despite the injuries, we have a better squad than most/all teams in the bottom half, by that I mean more talent. Why are Stoke above us? Why are West Ham and Fulham above us? Even with a patched up team we should have more ability and consistency than we have had this season.
