Probably the most sensible thing he has said all season - We'll gladly open the door for you...if you promise to never to darken St James Park with your presence!

Alan Pardew -

"As soon as I know we're in this division, that's what I want to do [sit down] with Mike [Ashley]."

"He can tell me where he's coming from and we can clear the air about how we want to take it forward."

"He could turn around and say, 'sorry Pards, see you later and thanks very much,' if we don't make it, or make it."

"Unfortunately for me I have to accept that decision,"

Don't mind either way personally but I'd prefer we gave him longer. However with the majority firmly against him, the position may become untenable.

I mind, the biggest reason we're in this mess, although not the sole reason, is because of his tactics.

I'd have to disagree but that discussion has been done to death on this board. Personally while I think he has had a poor season, there have been a multitude of factors which have brought about the current situation. Just as it was a combination of factors the previous year that got us such a high placed over achieving finish. That includes his management and tactics which were excellent.

It always is a combination of things in my view.

I'd prefer we looked longer term and allowed him the chance to learn from the mistakes this year. I don't agree with the modern way of giving up when you have bad season and just writing off all that's gone before, looking for quick fixes that do not exist.

Unfortunately for Pards, the modern way is what it is and therefore he'll be lucky to keep his job. The majority of fans dislike him (its got pretty personal now too) which means its probably an uphill struggle the board will feel he can't reverse. Once the crowd turn here, you are in real trouble as a manager.
