Savage is a tit, it's blown way out of perspective.

Meyer placed two hands on Pardew and pushed him aside as he was getting the ball, in the crowd behind you could see people laughing at that and Pardew probably felt embarrassment then anger.

Meyer was booked and instigated it, Pardew shouldn't have reacted.

Surely first things first no player should EVER place their hands on a opposing manager...

I could understand the uproar if he had properly landed one on the player or even if he'd moved with real aggressive intent to injure. He didn't and the witch-hunt is crazy. He should have stayed calm and kept the moral high ground though - and the player should have been dealt with properly for shoving a manager. If it had been Alex Ferguson being pushed out of the way like that the offending player would have been given a straight red.

Savage, Lineker, Hanson etc 'it was a definite headbutt' have obviously never seen a real one. I think what we have to remember is that much of the outcry is because the media are eager to see more implosions at our club.

I'm not defending Pardew it was a stupid thing to do what I am mad about is he took the shine off a good win. All pundits talked about was head butt and not team display. Pleased club have fined him and gave him warning. Expect more from FA and rightly so.

Thank Goodness, a sensible comment. Have an upvote from me.

There is no excuse for Pardew's actions yesterday. He deserves to go or if he had any self-respect he should be at the training ground this morning clearing out his desk.

The only thing which isn't negative to come out this is that Meyler didn't roll around the floor clutching his head and feigning injury. Steve Bruce was correct in what he said about his player and how he has handled his side of the situation but not getting involved Bruce comes out with some credit. If it were an Arsenal player then we'd be hearing more about it from the opposing manager and rightly so.

If Pardew is still in his position by the end of the day then I will be most disappointed in him and the club. Imagine now the reception that he's going to get from opposing fans now. He has to be disassociated from the club right now.

10 pages on a nothing incident. In other news we won 4-1 away and opened up a 4 point between us and 9th place with 10 games to go.

I dunno, we're 8th in the league with a chronic lack of resources or investment. Bit of a legend really.

Don't get the 'well done to Meyler for not going down and making it look worse' argument. There were two reasons why Meyler didn't go down.

    1) Pardew is not a player. Meyler and his team do not really stand to gain anything if he gets sent off. Had a player done what Pardew did - exactly the same thing - Meyler would have gone down. Of course he would.

    2) If Meyler had gone down clutching his face, it would have earned him the tag of 'biggest pussy in football'. Being decked by a manager - what player could ever live that down? All integrity would have gone out of the window.

So in short don't give me the let's all praise Meyler bollocks. He only stood to lose a lot had he gone down.

If Pardew does get sacked I hope we go for the Danish legend Lurpak, another quality butter.

IMO it's a total overreaction. Meyler didn't do much wrong, it happens all the time on the pitch. Pardew reaction was twatish, but it's still no worse then if a player did it. He should get a three game ban and a extra game for past history.

It's sad because it overshadowed what was despite the scoreline a good game.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Did you also notice the referee warning Tiote today for going down without being touched

I don't think that anyone is praising Meyler. I particularly said the 'only non-negative' to come out of this, which is, far, far different to 'positive'.

I'm pretty sure Meyler is lucky to be alive, Pardew should be hung, drawn and quartered for coming within 20 yards of a footballer. Meyler simply strolled up to Pardew and kindly asked "can I please have my ball back kind sir" and for Pardew to take a running leap at him and cleave his head entirely from his shoulders was borderline unacceptable and Anita then volleying the head into the back of the net simply should not have counted as the final goal.

Clearly the only acceptable outcome is that Newcastle is dissolved as a club, the city is dispersed, Pardew and all the players/coaches and affiliates of NUFC should be sent to Guantanamo bay and any fans neutered to prevent such travesties in future. Think of the children! Is no-one thinking of the children? For Gods sake the children!!!!!!!!!

I mean ****ing hell, its not like he barely touched someone after having been pushed or anything.

ps. Nice to note MotD attempted literally no review of possibly our best result of the season.
