Look at that Bamford hit at 39th min for Norwich.
One perf is all takes for a youngster to step up.

He has been immense.

I'd like to be proved wrong but I don't think he's one who will make the step up, at least not to the level a team like Chelsea need. A good Championship player for sure.

Not just that hit. His effort was better than all other Norwich players in that half.
So, not just skill he showed right attitude as well. If he continues just like that he can become top player.

I'm not watching today. Just basing it on what I saw of him on his other loans.

Gotta say I agree with this.
Cannot see Bamford ever being an integral part of our first team.
He will end up at Charlton Athletic, or at best, a club like West Brom.

Though I dont suppose Chelsea will care.
We got him for nothing and will probably make £7-10m off of him when he gets flogged to whomever.

armchair, could be you WERE London's top club, you're not at the moment.

TBH this winter is great with one major snowfall on March 1st.

Like I have said before - I would rather take a loss with youngsters filling in for Mikel than a draw with Mikel.
This season is written off by Jose in week 2 anyway. Why don't we blend some young ones rather than sticking with deadwood.

Agreed. With Euro & Olympics - next will be good season to give our squad some rest & recuperation.

Moreover with no international footy to play for, players won't be too hard pressed to prove at CL level.

Less work more or same money - can't complain.

I actually get your point for once. Least with playing youngsters we can start to bed them in for next year rather than a Mikel who is not a long term option realistically.

However I think you are deluded if you think that a RLC will come in and be so much better and more consistent than a proven and solid international like Mikel. And that's also failing to take into account we have yet another short term appointment in charge who is not going to care about what RLC may do for the next manager and just wants to achieve the best results during his own short tenure.

Does it also not make more sense to play RLC with Mikel rather than an out of form Matic?

Good post. I get the feeling that Matic will be on his way in the summer to be honest. I think Stan lets his hatred of Mikel get in the way of his judgement sometimes. :emoticon-0100-smile

For the record I never dislike Mikel <ok> IMHO, He is just not good enough for us.
Don't think Matic will be let go, unless some crazy money deal comes in.
But Mikel will be around, because no one will be ready to buy him except may be some slow league like Serie A teams possibly.

Agree about Gus being interim. However, we are at a stage where we don't have anything to play for.
So Gus should focus on future irrespective of who the next manager is.

Can you recollect Mikel single handedly carrying us for one or two games??
Matic did that for whole of 1.5 seasons!!

Like I have reiterated - Form is temporary, Class is Permanent.
Matic is out of Form & Mikel never had any class.
