I thought Fraser had a very sound game yesterday. He looked confident and had no chance with either goal. Clearly now Ron's number 1 so question is what happens next?

Will Boruc stay and fight for his place? We don't know why KD was on the bench yesterday and not Artur but surely have to assume that Gazza is now surplus to requirements.

If Boruc was to go and we loaned Gazza out is Cody Cropper good enough to be our back up? Have heard good things but not seen much of him tbh or do we need to go out and get another keeper in before the window shuts?

What do we all think?

Just replied but for some reason didn't send!

In a nutshell, I'm happy with Davis as 2nd.
Not keen on Gazza.
Don't know enough about Cropper but wasn't he on trial before we signed him? If so there's gotta be some potential there.
Would love to keep Boruc but hard to justify him and Kelvin as well as Forster and if he wants to leave, let him go.
Decent youngsters are hard to get after spending £10million on Forster.

Tend to agree. KD is a safe pair of hands but he cant go on much longer. I suppose Ron will decide if he thinks Cody is good enough.

forster hopefully will spend less time out injured than Boruc.

Artur was managing his health through last season and with that kind of time bomb our reserves were nowhere near good enough. Granted, a freak injury would leave us with the same problem as last season.

Cody not better than gazza from what i've heard.

Forster was very solid looking, agreed. But I did wonder whether Boruc would have done better with their first goal.

Probably. I like Forster a lot and think he's probably an upgrade but Boruc in one on ones is something else.

Boruc with his starfish leaps in one on ones is a joy to watch. (Especially when the striker ****s himself).

Perhaps Boruc is still the one really competing with Forster, but Kelvin travels and sits on the bench because he is the club captain and the biggest dressing-room presence.

He sits on the bench and travels even when injured, so not sure how much of a difference being named in the matchday squad or not is.

I personally think that forster could of done better for the first goal. Admittedly it was a good finish, but frazer is massive surely he could of shouting or something and made him self big.

I don't feel happy with Kelvin as second choice at all I'm afraid. If Artur decides not to fight (and I'd understand if he didn't at this stage in his career), then I'd like us to bring in someone else.

Forster is a good keeper and a giant of a man...he needs to have a run to get used to the PL. You always take a risk when you are breaking in a keeper. We can't second guess whether another keeper would have stopped a goal (unless it was an easy stop and the keeper was inept of course). Cropper and Gazza are not the answer. I don't blame Boruc for how he feels about being replaced as number 1 keeper, but I can blame him for not stepping up and doing his best to regain his place...if that is what is happening (we don't know, of course).

Forster isn't the England No.2 for no reason, I thought he had a decent debut yesterday and will most likely get better. Would like to see Boruc fight for his place but I can also understand if he decides to go another way...

Les Reed said that, because of the situation at Saints, the board decided that they couldn't go for an inexperienced manager...we needed a manager experienced in man management. Koeman certainly has his job cut out for him. He seems to be calm but firm...exactly what we need.
