The WTA and a host of other women's orginasitions are trying really hard to put a positive spin on the tantrum Swanny. I've read that this umpire is one of the few who is prepared to follow the letter of the law. Sarena Williams was caught being coached and did smash a racquet. I also read somewhere that there were I think 19 such as this and only 1 was from a woman, that woman being Serena Williams.

This sexism thing is a load of horse ****. Sure sexism does exist in tennis, but this particular case as all abut petulance.

Just aside thought. While Osaka and Williams each earned multi millions from the tournament, the umpire Carlos Ramos, a Gold Badged judge, received, according to Richard Ings@ringsau, just US$450 for his day in the chair. Imagine getting so little and having to wear all that abuse from a tennis diva's hissy fit. He deserves a pat on the back.

Bit on the fence with this one!

Never a fan of any of the 'Williams' sisters as:

1. They are American.
2. Unlike some of the cr*p I have heard they seemed to have had a fairly comfortable upbringing; Jeez, their Mum was a tennis coach.
3. I tend to lend my support to (perceived) underdogs.

The 'event':

1. Under great pressure trying to equal Margaret Court's Grand Slam record.
2. Not only facing defeat in a Grand Slam final but being beaten in a method similar to her own previously winning style; power!
3. At 'home' in NYC.

In Serena's defence:

1. She felt that the initial offence was incorrectly assigned as she did not see the coaching.
2. Inconsistency of different coaches in different tournaments. The coach in question has however stuck to the rules applied by the governing body of the tournament in question.

Conclusion:

1. Seems fairly obvious the 'old' lion is being replaced by younger studs; sorry I could not think of an appropriate gender specific example.
2. Bring back Yvonne Goolagong Cawley!
4. The cartoon guy f****d up by not depicting 'the opponent' as a younger oriental player; arse-hole!

Day 4 of the Aki Tournament. The 3 Grand Masters all showed why they've reached their status. One of them, Kisenosato, had the fight of the day. A sensational bout. I'm really looking forward the clashes between the 3.

Former World Super Bike Champion Troy Corser rides the wheels off a 1929 BMW R57 Compressor. As there's no foot shifter for gear changing, Corser used the "suicide" shifter on the throttle side of the bike. Amazing stuff.

Cyc; just got out of my pit and put the 'telly' on. Whaddaf**k is going on across the 'Tasman'?

A sensational game of football Kenny, the last 10 minutes was breathtaking. The All Blacks should have taken a shot at a field goal at the end I suppose. But congrats to the Boks. Here's hoping the Wallabies can match the Pumas.

Douglas Costa (Juventus) you filthy bastard - should be banned for 10 games at least

Harsh words, which I will reciprocate in Para.2. Hardly ever saw Costa commit a foul when he played for Bayern, have a feeling he was being well worked-over by the Juventus opponents beforehand, this does happen in Italian football. I have no access to watching the Italian first league, so don't know. Costa is a fast and very clever winger, so very much a target for the "hatchet men"?

You are sitting right on top of Bundesliga games, but made no mention of Bellarabi's foul on Rafinha in the Bayern/Bayer Leverkusen game? Bellarabi is most certainly a 'filthy bastard' too? At least the Bundesliga got it right this time, for a change, and whacked him with heavy punishment. Talented, but a dirty little sod.
