As a typical illogical and biased football supporter I will give my judgement on this competition after the result of 'Die Mannschaft' entertaining the World Champions in the Allianz Arena on Thursday!:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

Betting looks interesting in the England - Spain game. 17-10 for both with the draw 21-10.

I though England started about 33-1 in any International game. <whistle>

A glimpse at Usain Bolt's first trial game for the Mariners. It looks like he had fun.

I wonder if he has a Scottish granny; just about at 'our' level of mediocrity!

:emoticon-0173-middl You are now compared with that Glasgow Celtic scoundrel and have been labelled "one of the southern hemisphere's top judges"!

<laugh> In reality Swanny, I'm a Dundee FC fan. I've inherited the pain from the old man who was born there.

'Home' of Alan Gilzean, Gordon Smith (league winner with Hibs, Hearts and Dundee), Ian Ure, Bobby Cox and the great Charlie Cooke!

One of my first visits to Tynecastle to see 'The Jambos' resulted in a 0 (might have been 1) - 7 tanking from Dundee. I am pretty sure it was the season 'we' lost the league to Kilmarnock on goal average!

Ah, then all is forgiven. <ok> It is a shame that the 1st Division north of the border is nowadays a one-horse race, used to be a two-horse race, hope things change soon and make this league more open and competitive. Does piss me off when I listen to this goddamn Brendan Rodgers trying to sound so bloody clever. God, my Granny could have managed Celtic and done a fair job. My Scottish team, believe it or not, was always Hearts (good to see them doing so well atm, hope it continues), mainly because I thought as a kid Tommy Walker was the greatest when he came down south to play for Chelsea. When Tommy took a penalty there was no need to hold your breath or be remotely worried, it was soon in the back of the net and one for Chelsea. A great inside forward.

Some run of forwards at Tynecastle; Tommy Walker, Alfie Conn, Willie Bauld, Jimmy Wardhaugh and Alex Young!

I remember travelling 'home' from Pasing on the tram in a fairly cheery mood when I heard "nachste halt Willibaldplatz". I just had to get off and visit a few more rub-a-dubs and Gastatte!

Filbert Bayi of Tanzania takes the 1500m World Record at he New Zealand Commonwealth Games of 1974. Listen for the crowd as the Kiwis come after Bayi. The commentary kicks in at 1:20 into the video.

5 years on and Seb Coe has his day, this time in Zurich.

A month and a half before the run below, Steve Ovett equalled Coes record, but actually ran a slightly slower time. In those days, times were rounded up. Coe went 2:32:03, while Ovett clocked 2:32:09. Rounding up gave him a share of the world record. The race below gave him the outright record.

I could only find a highlight of Sydney Maree's record run in 1983.

Steve Ovett broke Maree's time a week later in Italy. American David Mack set the pace for Ovett. He beat the old mark by nearly half a second.

A titanic battle took place between Steve Cram and Said Aouita at Nice in 1985. The 1500m record was smashed.
