Nah mate, all League and Rugby. The Australian commentators are biased to the point of being an embarressment.
Used to always get into trouble on those ****ing nature rambles (took place not too often, thank God), purposely got myself left behind so I could find a tree stump or something to sit on so I could read the Sporting Life, even if it was yesterday's! Digressing from nature, landed up at Stoke Poges Churchyard once, where poet Thomas Gray (1716–1771) wrote his ‘Elegy written in a Country Churchyard’. Now that was different, and really started to get me interested in English Literature. Thank you Mr. Gray, Sir, you helped me so much in later years at school! Missus often remarks on my pathetic knowledge of plants, flowers, and whatnot, and enquires what on earth did I do at school as the only flowers I can identify are daisies, dandelions, buttercups, roses, daffodils, and tulips. Even then an error is always possible. Oh, I recognise stinging nettles too.
Bearing in mind my (usual) current lethargic, inactive and generally slothful existence I strangely enjoyed hiking at both Scout and Scottish Schoolboys' Club (fixed site for pupils from the private sector) camps. Even better was grouse beating as you walked thirty or so metres apart and could therefore drown yourself in your thoughts, imagination and dreams; I loved it! These wanderings possibly, or probably, resulted in my love of lengthy meanders interspersed by short rests for liquid refreshment. On literature my tastes run from P G Wodehouse through John Mortimer (Rumpole) to Tom Sharpe (Wilt series and others) on the comedy front. Not averse to a wee German or Nordic based crime story; Volker Kutscher, David Downing, Stieg Larsson). My favourite author is Hans Fallada; great insights into 1930's Germany. Just turned round and realised I have many paperbacks to read and many DVD's (fillums and TV series) to view.
WTF are Bayern playing at Kenny? Near enough full strength and only 0-0 after 52 minutes against some bloody pub team?
So much I like about this image. I have been to the Weihenstaphaner brewery in Freising. Andechser am Dom is one of my favourite pubs/eateries in Munich. I watch a lot of football in the arcade; it is especially enjoyable in the winter when the heaters are on. Unfortunately after a 'seven dayer' a few weeks ago I am on the wagon until I reach Turnhoose Airport on 10th Oktober for my next bash in Koln!
Not unhappy to see Eintracht Frankfurt dumped out of the 'DFB Pokal' after their attempts to kick half the FC Bayern team off the pitch last week. Plus, my Mum and I enjoyed our visits and stays in Ulm.
