Bearing in mind my (usual) current lethargic, inactive and generally slothful existence I strangely enjoyed hiking at both Scout and Scottish Schoolboys' Club (fixed site for pupils from the private sector) camps. Even better was grouse beating as you walked thirty or so metres apart and could therefore drown yourself in your thoughts, imagination and dreams; I loved it! These wanderings possibly, or probably, resulted in my love of lengthy meanders interspersed by short rests for liquid refreshment.
On literature my tastes run from P G Wodehouse through John Mortimer (Rumpole) to Tom Sharpe (Wilt series and others) on the comedy front. Not averse to a wee German or Nordic based crime story; Volker Kutscher, David Downing, Stieg Larsson). My favourite author is Hans Fallada; great insights into 1930's Germany. Just turned round and realised I have many paperbacks to read and many DVD's (fillums and TV series) to view.
