The point is that we should have the random threads and keep the bollocks there. I was all for tidying up the Suarez thread because it is a serious footie thread and was being dragged down by a personal feud.
The chances of us stopping talking a load of balls are about as good as the chances of us making a big name signing this window.
I'm all for keeping the playground stuff in the playground.

Don't thionk there is a clique anymore, not a small one anyway. At the moment it seems that everyone who uses the forum on a daily basis, resort to silliness and join in.
I understand it might annoy some of the less recreational users, having one silly OT thread up and active at a time is alright. I know some of the football threads tend to get silly, I think it's not so bad on some of the larger ongoing threads when news gets a bit quiet (Suarez and transfer threads), as when a bit of news comes in we are back on topic. If we were all to only talk serious football, the board would just go quiet and we would get bored.
Agreed, I think the personal feud is more damaging, they just drag on and it makes you not want to comment on the subject.

It's also frustrating trying to debate a subject with someone who has no interest in developing their argument and who routinely contradicts everything you say. The repetition means that, as you say, you just give up on it.
Far worse imo than a few witty remarks that get thrown in and then carry on with the main subject.

I find this quite ironic. The debate is about football discussion versus piss taking bollox. People are saying that the football related threads should stay on topic and the piss taking bollox should remain in the off topic threads. However, I've been getting dogs abuse from certain posters because I talk football with opposition fans rather go on a constant wum 
look the bollox talkers take pride in derailing thread so I have already split my time over to ja606 frankly cos ther eis nothing but on every thread.
I can join in but EVERY thread? and now every thread that's minutely funny has to stay? and be promoted for weeks on end while someone actually spend 20mins trying to write something (like cove) and gets either FFS or sympathy post type don it and their thread is gone in an hour or two.
why shouldn't randomer thread get tidied up just like all the suarez ones.... shock a mod did their job.
Off now to ja606 to put some random thread up there and see what they do
