That, I don't like. I've tried to stop the sympathy posts before, same with the FFS and insults stuff. As any of it worked? No. Will it work if I persist? No. Do I have the will power to continue fighting a already lost cause? Nope!

However, I do try to give (genuine) comments on those threads too. fair enough, I may stick a pisstake PS on the end but that is more to do with me knowing it is coming regardless.

I'm very selective about who I do the FFS and sympathy stuff to (#clique)

Anyway, is Suarez staying or going? <whistle>

I find this quite ironic. The debate is about football discussion versus piss taking bollox. People are saying that the football related threads should stay on topic and the piss taking bollox should remain in the off topic threads. However, I've been getting dogs abuse from certain posters because I talk football with opposition fans rather go on a constant wum
This is a bit different, imo. There are those who seem to feel that it's a war between Us and Them and we shouldn't sleep with the enemy.
To my mind, that's taking the whole rivalry business too far.

Can't see 'thread tools', probably because I am one. Can you be more specific please?

Just above the OP, there is a light grey bar across the page (unless you've changed your setting which I suspect you haven't <whistle>). There are six options (might be five for you as one might be a mod tool ) within this bar, the first one should be 'thread tools', click on the little arrow and there should be an option to add a poll <ok>

Edit: see #27

It's also frustrating trying to debate a subject with someone who has no interest in developing their argument and who routinely contradicts everything you say. The repetition means that, as you say, you just give up on it.
Far worse imo than a few witty remarks that get thrown in and then carry on with the main subject.

You don't have to be Poirot to figure out who that's aimed at <laugh>

It's called a debate mate & I always put a reasoned argument behind my point & if I think it's a strong argument I'll defend it strongly. If you don't want any form of debate, then why post on a discussion forum? & if you're not prepared to argue your point then it's either weak or you are......
What routinely happens is that I get some form of inane retort, that labels my opinion as 'bollocks' or that of an 'idiot' & a few close ranks to agree against me, & the entire point is brushed under the carpet & forgotten. If you think that's reasoned debate, then I beg to differ.

Agreed. I like discussing football with opposition fans, probably more so than with fellow reds because there is a bigger difference of opinion. Agreeing with people isn't always fun on a forum <laugh>

I disagree with everything you say. <ok>
