Rosedale (springbank west roundabout) does the best Haddock in Hull IMO , its spot on - it had gone down hill in the past few yrs but these days i cant fault the fish .
The chips are great too , tho they can be a bit oily still.

there are quite a few decent chippys around still

It depends where you are staying. I use Funky Fish in Brough - for a new shop, it's amazing. Fish skinned, no bones and you get the right sized portions. Really, really nice stuff.

Cave st accept nothing less.

Dundee is good but you have to put up with the irritating ****s "banter"

If you want 'banter' get yourself down to Cave Street.

Chazz' mate will have you in stitches.

I tried Chants Ave chippy the other night, the one near Sewell's garage.
It was very good, very good indeed.

Chicken and mushroom pie, chips, gravy and a breadcake.

Spot on it was.

Frydays in Anlaby is much better than Woodys, it also has the added advantage of having a couple of tables and chairs and you can get them to stick it on a plate and give you a proper knife and fork.

Lads, that is fantastic, thanks to all for the recommendations.

I’m looking forward to a great game and some top food.

Roasmead chipy (East Hull) used to be superb but it closed, a real Hull Chipy friendly banter and great portions ...

Cod chips peas & gravy real mushy peas too.

What I would give for that right now Maybe a business opportunity for ex pats out here.

<cheers>

I know that dosn't help because it closed

Cod?

'Kin ell.

I like the skin on my fish.

I also like the skin on chicken, it's the best bit.

I am disappointed if a chippy removes it.

I haven't been to chippy for ages though, I declared war on saturated fats.

My brother tells me Chants Chippy is quality. I have no reason to doubt him.

I'll tell you one thing about Hull that I ****ing love and that is that chip shops serve Chip Spice and Spam fritters, no where else in the country does. Amen to the city of Hull

Kingfisher on the left as you come out of Walton Street heading toward Calvert Lane is close to the KC and good value.

The best ones are open to debate and opinions.
