OT - Fish & Chips shops

Apologies for this indulgence, but I'm heading up north this weekend for the Forest game and to see my parents, rather than go to a fancy restaurant, I'd like some decent fish and chips, a scarcity in London, any recommendations for a good takeaway?

I agree that Frydays in Anlaby is brill and we did get some from Carltons a while ago and that whilst not quite as good was still very nice and great value.

Frydays is a 'prawn sandwich' chipshop that does dinky printed cartons for those scuttling off home to eat their chips.

Poncey and pretentious- but I'm told the portions are big.

he does up until 2pm .. he has to get to the game after all !

other than that its kingfisher down spring bank just 100m from Walton st ..

come to aves (avenue pub) and walk to Dundee or kingfisher after .. great day and good people
