Apologies for this indulgence, but I'm heading up north this weekend for the Forest game and to see my parents, rather than go to a fancy restaurant, I'd like some decent fish and chips, a scarcity in London, any recommendations for a good takeaway?

UTT !

Russ... The nutter who ownes Dundee dsnt open on match days, great chippy tho!
Woodys in anlaby is good, also Sam's near darleys roundabout.

Carlton Fisheries near Silver Cod.

The new kid on the block- de skinned and de-boned - the real deal. Salt of the earth Hull folk owning and serving.

I agree that Frydays in Anlaby is brill and we did get some from Carltons a while ago and that whilst not quite as good was still very nice and great value. :biggrin:

Frydays is a 'prawn sandwich' chipshop that does dinky printed cartons for those scuttling off home to eat their chips.

Poncey and pretentious- but I'm told the portions are big.

I think this thread will show that we have plenty of chippies in Hull.
So the main point is which area do you intend indulging in the gastronomic delights of a Fish and Chip supper.

Take a day off, you don't have to be a massive bellend every single day of your life you know.

" My chippy is harder than your chippy"

<laugh>

What a silly ****.
