I've played it a little bit. So far I like it.

Much more like the sim cities of old than that awful Cities : XL rubbish. (for longest time I never looked at Cities:Skyline because I thought it was related to Cities:XL. I recently found out they're unrelated and the similarity in name is just unfortunate).

Unlike the new EA SIM city you can build a huge city and can be offline. Graphics are far from photo realistic but are decent. Thousands of mods available on Steam.

Only problem so far is that it crashed when I tried saving. I haven't gone back to see if the city I spent hours building was saved or not yet.

Seems to be what the new Sim City SHOULD of been. I got it $9.something on GMG. After Dark expansion for $4.something on Amazon.

Funny blog about a dammed up river of poo breaching online somewhere.

True on the older versions being best though they have not aged well, I remember them in HD but sadly, when I reinstalled them, only one worked on Windows 10.

I like mods too, in fact I probably wont buy a game if it's not moddable. Steam is both great and a curse, as DLCs cost, the mod community used to be $0 after buying the game. Though most DLC is quite cheap, some of it is complete ripoff

As for your save,, I know your pain well <laugh> <grr> I've lost hundreds of hours of my life in lost saves <laugh>

Bad buzz man. I used to play FFVII on the PS1 back in the day, had 120 hours clocked up, and then my PS memory card decided to wipe itself clean, lost saves for all my games, near 200 hours down the pan <doh>

Yeah. Experimented around and discovered that the save to cloud doesn't actually do anything. <laugh> It acts like it's saving but it doesn't.

    Save local works fine.

On the plus side, I'm really enjoying the game. Everything is streamlined without being dumbed down too much. (as in the early simcities)

I've recently uncovered the best game I've ever played.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

    Crazy good. Seriously.

I've got the Witcher 3. It's in my pile of 'to start'.

I just can't leave MGS alone. Seriously good game, to be honest I didn't really get on with the old MGS's but this as a stand alone game is incredible.

    Good game <ok>

The new one is amazing, set in Victorian London. You play as 2 characters, and can switch between the 2 depending on missions etc. A brother and sister.

I cant stand Konami as a company, horrid little ****s, second only to EA when it comes to ruining the games industry.
UbiSoft are also a shower of ****.

Forgetting all that, the game is amazing. Trust me.

The amount of variety is unreal. Better than Fallout 4, and that's seriously good too.

Bethesda and CD Projekt Red are bastions of greatness in PC gaming.

I played the original MGS on my PS 1 I recall, and quite liked it.

Seriously though, play the Witcher series, 1, 2 and 3, its like Mass Effect, where your choices are imported from one game to the next and can change each game by a startling amount.
They are by far my favourite game series of all time.
